Default Idling Issues/surging with sc?

I recently bought my car with everything on it. When it idles at around 750 when warm it seems to sometimes surge and drop below that and then pop back up. when it does this it makes a bobbling noise that kinda shakes the car. i was told that it is the tensioner pulley that is doing it but i dont understand why the idle is dropping like that. anyone else have this problem or any advise? i guess it could just be the tune...Thanks, Jason

The stock idle is inconsistent. Mine does exactly what you describe so I had it raised to 800-850 and it helped. But it still isn't a rock-steady idle.

You might want to have your idle bumped up a bit. That should help if it's not related to the sc.

I have the idle issue on my Vortech 2004.5 350Z. My tuner used a consult 2 to help the idle from moving up and down. It helped a little but, my idle still moves a tad. I'm going to have him take a look at it again sometime next week. The dealer can also help you with your idle but, they charge like $80 to do it. If any of you found a fix for it please post it up. If I find the fix I'll post it up on the thread. Thanks in advance.

The fix is to use the Cipher software to raise it.

Google sent me here: http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5...tegory_Code=FX

Your best bet is to post in your local area forum and ask around. There were like 3-4 guys in my area that all offered to do it for free. One of the guys brought his laptop to a Z meet and took care of it in 2 minutes.

Thanks for the info ANXIOUZ. The CIPHER Diagnostic tool is just like the Consult 2. Cool item and priced pretty well to. Very odd how the Consult 2 didn't fix my idle. Gonna see if anyone in my area has this and give it a try.

Check for a cut, causing a boost leak, under the flex pipe right before the straight intake pipe to your throttle body.

If that is the problem, replace the flex pipe and but some edge guard on that sharp metal corner.

Unless you have cams . Your idle shouldnt be any different than it was stock . The cause could be a lot of things , but a vacuum / boost leak would be a good place to start looking .
