There is another shop that is soon going to be involved in making an external wastegate setup for the APS TT that I know of but they don't want it posted about yet.

For a "complete" kit you would. That's the whole point of a kit. You just bolt everything up. No fabbing, no welding, just a set of tools would be required. Welding flanges onto the manifolds was discussed before in another thread and was deemed a bad idea. The problem had to do with the durability of the welds.

nothing wrong with welding cast metal, if the welder knows what hes doing. the pics and info on the tt 06 z06 that i posted had the wastegates welded directly to the cast turbine housings. it looked so good, you would have thought it came that way. not an issue. but maybe somebody will release something soon.

Sorry if anyone has been let down by this info, but I have a feeling a EWG kit is in the works by someone else

George,

Alot of the newer APS TT kits share the same exhaust manifold as the APS extreme except where the external wastegate pipe would bolt up to the manifold its got a block off plate bolted in. So for those users who have these newer kits they would not need new manifolds, they just need to remove the block off plate and bolt up a flange and piping for the external wastegate to the exisiting holes, weld shut the internal wastgate and either plumb the dump into the exhaust or leave it open.

Hmm..so other than the different manifolds, is the rest of the standard APS TT kit the same as the older kits? It would really suck if the piping had changed. Do you know if the Extreme manifolds can be used with the older standard kits. I'd like someone to give 100% confirmation on this. I really don't feel like switching to the Extreme since I don't have any desire for 700-800whp. I just want 600whp with solid boost control on the standard kit.
