Car goes to GRD for APS TT install
My car is schedulled to go to GRD march 17 to start on my APS TT install if everything is in stock by then. Im also getting my JWT Clutch and flywheel installed at the same time. I also got some autometer nexus gauges to be installed to im really excited. I've heard good reviews about GRD and i thank them for answering questions i've had. Now i just got to wait and see if everything is there so i can take my car down there.
Thanks i cant wait i've heard lots of good stuff about them and a few things people are complaning about but all in all the majority of people have all said they have done great work and were more than happy wen everything was done.

wrong, there is a JWT upgraded clutch that will hold 600+

To go to the other extreme, I wouldn't say you need a $3K exedy. There are hybrid single faced and 3/6 puck singles that will hold the power on the cheaper end, and a multiface ATS that is somewhere in the middle price range.
A JWT combo runs about 800 bucks + 400-600 bucks labor. That is $1300 completely wasted. If nothing more than the fact that it is organic and proned to glazing, I would look into a more capable clutch setup

I know that. That is not the clutch that 99% of the people refer to. Edit -I looked up specifics, it is a metalic twin disc. If one is looking for 600+ capability, they are going to look at a multiface carbon ATS or Exedy

I can tell you I was undersold on my clutch at first and a person speaking from experience, the JWT is a poor choice. I am sure you can find me examples of people running it without issue. Same as I can find cars running 500+ whp on stock blocks, doesn't mean it is wise or recommended.

Thanks for the advise tho
It isn't on the car yet, so sell it and put the money towards a more capable one. I have driven a JWT clutch and very much so did not like it. Engagement is right off the floor.....right off the floor
For those of you that have the APS TT kit what can i expect for horse power to the wheels? Im Going to be useing APS 2.5 in test pipes and HKS hi power ti dual exhaust. Just wondering what you guys think ima make at the wheels or if any of you have the same setup or close what are you guys running?
I had the APS TT, APS Plenum, APS 2.5" TPs with my Nismo exhaust installed at GRD, tuned to 442whp@9psi and after 6 months blew my motor. I would advise you not to go over 400whp on stock internals. You may have a strong motor and be fine or you may not. Why take the chance?
APS in the last year has stated on more than a few threads, that they never let a Z leave their shop with more than 380whp on stock internals. If I were you, I would advise Tuan to tune it to no more than 400whp. Then save for internals for the next stage.
