you can make as much power as they tune you to. You want 400, have them tune to 400; you want 425, have them tune you to 425.

With your setup, I would look to be tuned around 390-410 hp and keep tq at 400 or below. this should equate to around 8-9 lbs of boost.

just another bit of information in regards to the JWT clutch:

The clutch would literally engage about 0.125 of an inch off the floor. Then about 6 months later a chunk of the pressure plate broke off and killed my 3rd gear. Luckily I was able to play it off and have the tranny replaced under warranty. I also found out that the JWT clutch is nothing more than a modified stock clutch. This news really pissed me off.
When the tranny was replaced I got the ACT street disk and heavy duty pressure plate. The ACT clutch was awesome. I loved the heavy feel of the clutch. It is about 50% stiffer than stock, which I really like. The engagement point is about one third off the floor which I also really like. The bite of the ACT is much better than the JWT as well. All in all I am very happy with my ACT.
Hope that helps.

Agreed, but why even risk it? Why not follow the lead of the manufacturer and tune to no more than 360-380whp? It's better to be safer than sorryer. Just keep it at 8psi, enjoy the 150whp gain and dream about your future 550whp build.

I agree not risking it, unless you have the funds to throw at a motor right away . I have 2 yrs of personal experience with this car and boosting it on a stock block, built motor, as well as reading the experiences with the board and such, I am confident in the stock motor until you break the 400 tq threshold

Wish GRD would have known that last year. I agree with you though. I know there is no magic number here put stock rods do have a low threshold. Some get lucky some dont but why risk it.

The JWT should hold up fine for your stock block. Alberto had one, and beat the **** out of his car at the 1/4 mile. He never complained about the clutch, and when we took it out, it was in much better shape than we both expected. When you build the motor, and go for big power, you can spring from the multi disc carbons...especially since you already have the JWT.

Depending on the dyno, 375-400whp seems to be the ultra safe number for engine longevity. So if you want maximum reliability, stick around that number. That's my personal opinion.

I agree 100%. Don't risk it...tell Tuan to tune you no more than 380 whp and even less torque. That will provide loads of fun while still maintaining reliability. Either way you'll think the car is crazy fast since it'll be your first time...
