Default 05/AT, 1 1/2 cents worth

1/17/07 took car to "local" well known tuner shop for JWT TT & VB upgrade...
Have had huge problems...don't have car...it's not drivable. Shop still "trouble shooting"???

If I were to do this again I would ship the entire car to SGP Racing for the TOTAL package...TT kit, VB upgrade, Torque Converter upgrade, A/T build up.

The last three probably cost ~ $4500 but for me at this point it would be well worth it from the reliablity and peace of mind sake!!!

I spoke at length yesterday with Mark and Tom at SGP and was blown away by their knowledge and "business story".

damn i had no clue that the vortech will get you that kind of hp 425whp man thats good how much more are you expecting to get out of it by the cog pulley. I see that you are selling your vortech what is the reason for that if your going to get the pulley or do you have 2 vortechs im lost. Have you ran it at the track yet.

I am running the APS TT kit with built motor and upgraded VB and TC from GT Motorsports on my 5AT G35, pushing 409rwhp and 400trq at 12 psi on a dyno dynamics, going back for more power soon.

Go to the drag section and click on the post one350zfan vs coachk. My 5AT is in the far lane...I have APS TT w/VB....10lbs of boost on stock internals. At one time there was a memeber pushing and I mean REALLY PUSHING 505whp on stock internals in a 5AT.I think 450 whp would be relatively safe on stock internals for a while, but its just a matter of time before something goes.5AT trannies I wouldn't push over the 450whp either without a BUILT tranny..i.e. clutch packs, bands etc.........By the way in the video I ran a 12.5 et w/109 trap speed.Pulled off a 1.8 60ft on DR's.
Hope this helps

The JATCO tranny is speced to handle a MAXIMUM of 333 lb/ft at the shaft input beyond that all bets are off................HP without rpm is meaningless because we cannot convert to torgue at that rpm..........anyway peak torque is all that counts.

Gonna run some numbers in the next 2 weeks.
Currently set on 8 psi daily driver, guestimating 380-400 on JWT TT engineered by VRT.

CJ_350's 2005 5AT with 3.12 Vortech, DC sport headers, kinetix cats, kinetix plenum, injen TD, and 345rwhp ran a 12.3 at 113 on the factory 17" tires here in Orlando with the factory VB and a 2.1 60'.

As were are on topic of 5AT's, what is the most HP that anyone has on the 5AT. I have been told not to go over 500rwhp even with an upgraded VB and TC, is this true?

To be safe, 450 whp on Sharif's dyno per Sharif w/ just VB upgrade. Clutch packs/rebuild recommended for anything more. My plan is for a full build w/ 700 BB turbos, but boost will be limited until we get some time-proven 5AT high hp upgrades available.

I was told by GTM that they would recommend me not to go over 500whp so I guess that is as far as I will go Unless I shell out for a whole tranny internal upgrade which is a pretty penny right now.

when the greddy tt first got onto my car the stock tranny only lasted 2 weeks but now i have a tranny built by Level 10 and there isn't as single part in my tranny that is stock now, its all been upgraded. and that tranny has been on my z for about 3 years now and still going strong. its still just like brand new.

I didn't know Level 10 did tranny internal upgrades 3 years ago, I thought all they did was upgraded VB's which is what the norm. is. What I consider tranny internals is clutchpacks and bands.

If the member with the upgraded tranny from Level 10 could share the info to us 5AT guys, I for one would appreciate it.

I would agree. I made 459whp on Sharif's dyno with no dynojet correction factor. That's probably in the area of 500+ on a dynojet. We had issues with the trans on the dyno and could only get one decent pull. The add'l torque is too much at these levels. I can feel it in 3rd and 4th gears.
