Can a stock motor/fuel system run 6psi?

Hey everyone, im thinking about boosting my car by myself by running a single turbo in the back of the car, i've seen alot of american cars with turbos run that way but never on a Z, but i was wondering how many pounds of boost the stock fuel system can run? will i really need bigger injectors if im running like 4-5 psi max? i thought about doing this because most common N/A mods will run you over 2 grand and still not put you over 300 whp or 253 at that matter
. 5 psi should make it fly. i could buy the parts and do the work myself, so all i would really need is a turbo, manifold adapter, waste gate, cheap piggy back(emanage), piping, and maybe oil lines and an adapter plate, unless someone can tell me where to find a turbo that doesn't need oil. Any advise is appreciated, i don't see why it wouldn't work but tell me what you guys think.

no, no and more no. save up and try again. go cheap with F/I and watch your engine go kaboom. cheap piggy back? rofl, thats the worst of all. there is no cheap way, just some less expensive ways to go F/I.
Well the Greddy system runs with emanage at those boost levels, and some have ran it but maybe add a walbro to be safe and take a couple of degrees out with a consult or cypher.
But good luck finding space under the car to put a turbo on the back plus run the piping.

STS is making a rear mounted turbo kit for the Z. I believe they plan to release it soon. Check it out http://www.ststurbo.com

Sucking up rain, snow, mud and rocks is just the beginning of the shortcomings of an STS kit.Having a rear mounted turbo system also means you lose alot of heat(energy) which drives the turbo.So spool-up tends to be alot later then it would with a conventional turbo system.Low mounted turbos requires the use of a sump and pump (if you do it the right way) and these add to the complexitiy of the system.Then there is the long path for the piping to run from the turbo, to the intercooler (if supplied) and then finally to the intake manifold which adds even more to the lag.Ofcourse these are just some of the shrotcomings I have thought of in the last minute. I am sure there are others to take into consideration.

The STS turbos are probably fine on V8's with lots of torque and the STS puts them over the top and lag is probably not much of an issue but on our V6's it will probably be felt much more as mentioned.

well with the exhaust removed there's a huge cavity back there, i was thinking about putting it kinda tucked up inside, because my car sits really low. im seriously thinking about trying it.....whats the worst that could happed
Please do try it out, don't let these guys sway you from your decision, i enjoy reading detonation stories and I'd love to know if a home-made turbo system works!
