Default Vortech Dyno Numbers!!!!!! GRD tuned

Wooo !!!!!!!!!!!! so I finally had my car completely tuned yesterday and all the little problems fixed!!! GRD solved everything. TUAN knows his SH*T and Irshad is a very nice and forgiving guy for taking me back

Current setup :

Headers
Custom true dual exhaust
ngk 1 step plugs
royall purple 5w-30
Camshafts
CNR crank pulley
Vortech polished kit
2.87 pulley
440cc injectors
AAM Spacer
93 octane
Stock internals
448rwhp and 360rwtq at 10.7 lbs of boost

BTW I have the 12lb boost pulley, is it cuz my exhaust is 2.5" dual from the headers back? I don't have cats just resonators.

Let me hear your opinions!

I'm very impressed with these #'s. From what i can though there still room for more, but i'm gonna wait for about another 2 weeks for the methanol injection kit and see what I can get out more safely!!!

I think for a vortech kit these are very very good #'s

Last Night I ran a cobra ( buddy of mine when we both had cobras, same set up roughly) he has 470 rwhp and 485 rwtq at 15lbs boost. we did a highway roll from 40-120 and i pegged the rev on 2-3 and 3-4 shift lol but it was only if anything half car lead. I had 19's , he runs a 12.1 all day. soo I'm hoping with this setup and 16" rims and slicks i have , I can break into the 11's, especially with the methanol!!

Not to downplay the numbers, which are great...but, why is everyone so surprised? Vortech can def. put down some serious numbers if done right...boost is boost, and at almost 11 lbs, what would you expect? Sucks that the tq is so low due to parisitic loss...I would know, that's why I switched to twins lol

Cograts to the OP!

What engine management? Are the 440s the only fuel upgrade? No Walbro or anything?

Engine management is the vortech stock Split second box. And yes the 440's are the only fuel upgrade. However vortech supplies a FMU fuel management unit to help.

that isn't why the tq is low

the tq is low because it isn't hitting maximum boost in the mid rpms where the engine is the most efficient
also, the vortech blower doesn't have a peak efficiency at mid rpms like most (small) turbos do. So it has less peak efficiency at mid rpms, but it's a broad and consistent efficiency throughout the mid and high rpms and even more efficient at high rpms than many of the small turbos

The vortech blower is a pretty big blower - way bigger than most turbos. It just doesn't spin nearly as fast. It has more in common with a large turbo setup than a small turbo

the parasitic losses are going to be around 12-15 crank hp (or 15-20 crank tq) at 4000 rpms and around 35-40 crank hp (or 28-32 crank tq) at 6600 rpms

How did you scale the 440cc injectors?

i stand corrected....sentry, I always wondered why your tq #'s so high...

my tq numbers are high because i'm making more power. So far my setup has been plagued with one issue after another to prevent me from actually reaching the peak whp in the upper rpms that my setup should be making. I should be in the range of 470-480whp and 390tq on a dynojet (I've been dynoing on a dyno-dynamics STD)

it's a long story but as I solve one issue, another issue comes up. I'm waiting for the CJM twin fuel pump assembly because at this point I think the issue with my car is my pump assembly has something wrong with it. I've always had fuel pressure drop issues and until recently, always had belt slip problems. I'd use a booster pump to boost fuel pump voltage to raise fuel pressure as a band-aid fix. But now that my belt isn't slipping and I reach higher boost, the booster pump is overheating the fuel pump and causing things to not run consistently because it appears to be temp related with the pump - I could go on and on with it, but if I can stablize my fuel pressure the correct way, then my numbers will finally materialize out

well let's hope so, lots of [turbo] people here think the only way to get into 11's is with a turbo and is BS if it's done with a SC
