Default Revup Forced Induction Guys......plenum spacer or no spacer???

This is to all the FI Revup cars out there.

Are you running a plenum spacer or larger plenum (crawford, aps, etc) or did you just leave the upper plenum alone?

Jeremy,

I do have a 5/16" spacer, but I was wondering if anyone ever tested a spacer out on a F/I Revup application.

From what I have heard, a spacer does nothing on an N/A revup motor. I have the spacer from when I was using the MREV2/spacer setup.

I guess we need to set up that intake manifold shootout.

I have a:
1) Revup Plenum
2) MREV2 Plenum
3) 5/16" spacer

I have access to a ported Revup Plenum, too.

What do you have?
stock 287 plenum?
your "shorty" plenum?
skunk2 spacer?

False.

I did a before/after dyno of an AAM Spacer install on my Rev-up Z. I gained 5whp all across the board.

5HP across the entire graphs sound odd.......I could see gaining 5hp up top on a mod like this, but not all the way across the board.....

You can do back to back dyno runs and pick up gains like that.......I've seen it before.

I don't think a spacer alone on a FI set up will do much of anything on a REVUP lower collector.

But I'd like to see the MREV2/spacer combo tested on a FI REVUP.

Alberto (and others) have tested the 287 lower plenum (with a spacer or crawford upper) on their FI 287 engine and then tested the same set up with a REVUP lower collector.

Apparently the REVUP lower collector loses power everywhere on the curve when on a FI 287 engine.

The result will most likely will hold true on a FI REVUP engine, but it still needs to be tested.

I would have tested this myself but I don't have FI

+1 Good memory. I figured the Revup would make more power, seemed bigger = more volume & better flow but it KILLED my midrange TQ and never even made up for it in the top end, resulted in a power loss everywhere. I tested it with my TN kit and decided to switch back to the standard lower plenum. I have no idea how guys who do this NA say it helps them. Take it for what its worth.
