Default Rebuilding GT35 turbo cost

Hi,

I searched but couldn't come up with an answer. I've noticed turbo rebuild kits on ebay for only $76.. Then how much is it to have a professional rebuild a turbo? I know GRD rebuilds APS turbos.. Thanks~

Just as a reference but I believe Turbonetics does it or maybe a upgrade for 400.00 Keep in mind it's an example and this is just what I vaguely remember reading a while back so I have a high chance of being incorrect.

to rebuild the aps turbos its pretty cheap, well, after you take out the 1000 cartridge charge, other than that, its free.

Tig, that's a simple swop/replacement... I can sense some bitterness towards the APS... I'm sure you know what I'm talking about... I'm talking about taking apart the cartridge and replacing the seals and bearings and etc..

thats all you can do with a garrett ball bearing turbo, you cant repair the cartridge, unlike journal bearings.

all you can do is buy a new cartridge. the ball bearing turbos have to be rebalanced which is a very difficult process, you cant just slide a new shaft in and call it a day.

But I thought GRD rebuilds APS turbos...

Hehe....the APS/Garett GT series turbos are very expensive to rebuild, as others have mentioned. Not sure if every GT series turbocharger is the same, but when we have rebuilt APS turbos in the past, it has always been a $1000+ cartridge swap and rebalance.
