Yes, in most cases, the CEL is unavoidable, as the stock ECU is no longer in control of AF feedback. This triggers that code.

well if you have a CEL, then how can you pass state inspections and what not? Thats the only thing thats holding me back from going FI...that and lots of money

Michigan has no inspections, no emissions, nothing.

ok well what about the people who don't live in Michigan, like Texas! what are we supposed to do if we go FI and need to get an inspection?

Can't you get rid of that CEL with the Consult?
I had a CONSTANT airbag warning light due to a bad module, and the dealer simply turned it off until the replacement part arrived.

I get the CEL. Just get a code reader and erase the code right before you pull in for inspection.

I tried that once here in Louisiana. They said something about the ecu being reset still and that i would need to drive it a few days (not sure exactly what they meant). The cel came back before i could get it done.
