*More Forged Performance goodness - Built Motor/APS Extreme/Cams/Etc. - Dynos Inside
After roughly 3 months of anticipation, I have what is basically an entirely new car. My G35 had absolutely no performance modifications when I left it with Sharif and Forged Performance. Here are my reviews, modifications, and dyno results:
Forged Performance - What can I say that hasn't alreay been said? They went above and beyond what I expected. When I dropped my car off, Sharif took a lot of time discussing my build and showing me around the shop. He also took me for a slightly scary ride in his 350Z. Throughout the build process I was constantly kept updated both by phone and email. Anytime I had a question, I recieved an answer within a couple hours. I was never left wondering or worrying about my car.
Quality of work - When we arrived to pick up my car, it was up on a lift. It was very nice to have a chance to see the time that was put into the build. Everything near the manifolds and turbos was heat wrapped and wire tied. All the vacuum lines were secured with zip ties. All of the screw bands were installed so they are easily accessed to be tightened. All of the people that have seen my car since I picked it up have commented on how nice everything looks under the hood.
Driveability - This is one of the best parts. The car runs so smooth. I stayed in Atlanta for a couple days to hang with some family and friends. This gave me the chance to really test the car out and see how it ran in various situations, including heavy traffic. The car handled everything flawlessly. It never ran hot, never had a cold or warm startup issue. No rough idle, no stalling. The 800+ mile drive back to Michigan also went uneventful. The car even managed to average 24.8mpg, which is a little better than it did on the drive down. I have put a few hundred more miles on around town, and it continues to impress and scare everyone who rided in it. The APS exhaust sounds great, very agressive but not annoyingly loud inside the car. I can't comment on how it sound outside the car other than at idle, but it sounds badass at idle. The Carbonetics clutch is pretty nice. It's a bit stiffer than stock, and definitely more grabby, but not as bad as I thought it would be. It's very easy to get used to. I have managed to only stall once on a hill.
Power - It's fast. The power comes on very smoothly. It's very easy to control. It can be as docile as stock or it can be a monster. It feels like sitting in the seat of a jet, the power just keeps building. Compared the kits with smaller turbos that spool almost instantly, these turbos come on very linear. 1st gear is pretty useless. 2nd gear is fun, it will get sideways very quickly if I go over half throttle. 3rd gear will get traction as long as it's not too cool out.
Modifications

Awesome numbers on that dyno congrats and boost is so addicting with that feeling you get as the turbines spool up. I run a single turbo setup and even with that it's amazing so I can imagine your setup at 521hp.

This was a really fun project. As Dutchboy mentioned, his car arrived COMPLETELY bone stock, in the power-adder department. Not even a JWT popcharger could be found on his car. No exhaust, no CAI, nada...nothing..zilch. Just some nice Volk wheels, and lowering springs.
The other neat thing about this car, is that the cabin is visibly untouched....100% stealth.
Of course, the gaping front mount intercooler gives away a few secrets, I suppose.
Enjoy!
