Default What is the max boost on stock internals...

Im wondering if a turbonetics turbo kit can get anymore power before building the block......i know the pistons and rods dont like much more power then what the kit comes with out of the box....but you get utec and injectors...can you turn the boost up alittle....

ive searched but no one really talks about upgrade the turbonetics kit

Popular opinion says that you can get up to 400 to 450 whp on stock internals.

It all depends on which EMS you use and more importantly, the tune(r).

You'll need a return fuel system, larger injectors, and UTEC/Pressure sensor in order to do this in a somewhat safe fashion. Depending on the dyno used...anywhere for 375whp to 425whp is usually a reasonable limit.

100 octane is your friend. Take heed to this advice.

I've been beating on my car with the APS TT at 10psi for 5k miles. Yea, that's not much but I hit 10psi like a bad habit. I had it dyno'd last week and it made 374whp on the very conservative out-of-box 91 octane tune.

I'd get that checked out, most APS TTs make 400rwhp/400rwtq with only 6psi of boost on 91. I'd still run 100 all the time.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Currently, I'm running the stock 8psi tune with no fuel return. I have the RC440 injectors and tuning was done with a Utec. I plan on getting the CJM return fuel system and upping the boost to 10psi.

You should be fine....Detonation is the enemy, ignition control is what saves the life of your motor, under boost. I'm looking for 10pds. but will have ignition control and stand-alone system, and should run great...Built motor about a year from now that will handle about 20pds, but will keep it right around 12-14pds. no more.. ...Like being somewhat issue free(well as much as poss. with F/I)

Im getting a utec, 440 injectors & a fuel return system. Right now im debating wether or not to get the 3.12 or 2.87 pulley for the vortech. Still not sure if the stock motor can take. How much boost is the 2.87 pulley for?

Without making assumptions about the quality of your install and the tune? 0psi. Get it on the dyno with a WB02, select your fuel management system, and start to tune it. Find 100 octane, and shell out the money for it.

I think I'll bookmark this thread and note your SN for future reference. I see a recipe for disaster.
