Have you actually seen the cylinder head design for the GTR engine? Take a peek at the VQ37 in the new G37.. and you'll have an idea. I don't see that engine being very "swapable" without a great deal of work. The control system will be mind boggling.. let alone the price tag on a GTR engine..
In the end.. it's a matter of owner preference.. The RB26 is a great engine.. The VQ35 is a great engine..

Thanks for all the nice comments (about both the turbo and the baby, lol).
Zexy, this turbo looks promising, but I kinda went against what alot of people were recommending. Most everyone said I should get a GT4088R, but I got a good deal on this turbo and since my choice was between this one and the 4088R the whole time, I was sold.
Tyler, hope that engine is running strong for ya.
I have said many time previously, I have nothing against the VQ and I dislike the fact that anytime I post anything about my motor it turns into a RB vs. VQ debate. I simply wanted to do something different. My car had a Greddy TT kit on it for over 2 years and I had the option to build the motor or get a different one and I opted for the new motor because I wanted a challenge. Nothing less, nothing more.
On a side note though...I'm going to post pictures of the majority of the rest of my parts in this thread tonight just for the hell of it. I'm getting excited since I should have the motor on the stand building it in the next couple of weeks after I get it back from the machine shop

Hey 002-MP, sorry if this question has been asked over and over again..
How do you plan on getting the car inspected? Are you leaving the stock ECU conencted for all non-motor related operations? see.. in PA, they use the OBD2 connector for inspection/emissions to check for codes etc. So a standalone would not be a viable solution here.

But anyways...yes the stock ecu will be retained for all the non-motor functions, most specifically the CAN-bus. Wiring it up to run will be fairly simple...not much more difficult than wiring into a 240sx chassis, but getting it inspected is my biggest issue I will be facing.

There's so many inputs and outputs though it would likely take an entire PCBA to feed false signals and receive false outputs from the stock unit so it wouldn't throw a code... In California you can register cars off road only but I'm assuming you want to drive this daily...
