Looking into going FI...used SC/turbos?
Would you personally buy used FI components/sc/tt/st ?
I'm looking to go FI and was looking at the vortech sc or greddy tt. New, i would go with vortech, but you can find a used greddy kit for a pretty reasonable price too.
Would you, or did you, purchase used FI?
If you did, are you happy with your purchase or would you rather have waited longer and gotten a new kit?

Well I personally brought a used greddy kit since the price was very low, and it wasn't used for many miles (2000 to be exact). Like all used things, you need to make sure the item is in good shape, but especially so for a turbo kit. Unfortunately I missed 1 major thing, which ended up costing me money. Just make sure everything is in good shape, and that nothing is missing.
I bought my ProCharger from JEORGEOLIVIERA and every single nut and bolt was included. I am sure there are some kits out there that wouldn't include everything, but I bought from a great seller. I am sure other people will differ from story to story, but I am very happy.

It depends on how resourceful you are. If you know that you have no problem getting parts, or having them fabbed, then there's nothing to worry about (as long as you know the kit is in good working condition).
But for the average joe, I would think a couple of missing parts could delay the project by a couple hundred bucks and a few weeks waiting for parts, and a lot of effort looking for some special gaskets or bolts.
and as hwcustoms said, a lot depends on the seller. If you know the seller personally, and can be assured that the kit is not missing ANY parts whatsoever, then you should be good to go.

Good advice, thanks.
I'm looking to get a stillen SC used. See, if I buy it new then i might have wasted the money, but if its used I can get it at a much lower price and see if works for the application in which i intend to use it.
if i dont like it, ill sell it and get a new greddy TT
how does that sound?

That's close to what I'm gonna end up doing. I got a used kit, and every little piece needed was there in pretty good shape (little scratched everywhere from careless removal) but the overall kit turned out a huge dissapointment. You should be fine with the Stillen though, very reliable. What stage? 7th-injector style fuel management?
The only thing I can imagine being bad is like others said, somethin missing, or you're not satisfied with the power output, selling it, and goin turbo.

So far for my engine I think stage 3 is tops, but I'm going to call and see if there's a stage 4 upgrade available.
I would buy a used stillen s/c for sure, but not a brand new one ;x

I was going to, but I found a new Greddy kit for 4k so i couldn't pass on that.
But under 10k miles... and no rusted pipes or w/e...
But I know when I get my TT, I'm going to beat on it for a good week... but then not again till I build my block lol
