500rwhp => 600 hp on the block? You need 600 hp for mid 10's. And drive good

Where did you pull those#'s from lol. Have you ever drag raced? Didnt know you were into that, but being around Jeremy I guess you have to be

I think your underestimating what its gonna take to run 10's with a full weight street car with a 6MT but best of luck to you.

man, I wouldn't think anything faster than 11's is even possible without either using drag radials or a really hardcore tire OR going to a drastically different transmission gearing setup. If you can only give your tires 1/2 throttle in gears 1-3 because you lose traction with anymore throttle, you'll have a hard time reaching 11's in this car - from what I know anyway

I've been drag racing on the street since I was 19 (I'm 36 now). I had my first 5.0 Mustang GT which was an 89. Then I bought a new 92 LX5.0 which had a vortech and was a low 12 car on a 10.5" slick. That car was stolen and I bough an 87 GN that had a full 12 point cage a 4 link rear and a Duttweiler motor. The car Ran a 10.02 @ Englishtown. I didn't want to go any faster because I would then need an NHRA license. I did alot of match racing and had a good time. I haven't been to the drag strip in about 6 years since my sister was killed in a car accident. But I still street race and have no issues about my ability to run at the track again like I had never left (assuming I can run with my beloved pro-tree).

I still pick up races now and again. I don't pubicise it on forums and post vids of me engaged in illegal racing (that's just retarted).

I haver a fairly soft street tire and can hook up solidly in 3rd gear but I do have to pedal my way through first and second. I have a 295/30/19 rear 140 treadwear. It hooks up pretty good.

I think the #'s above are possible. And I think a 10.8 will be possible with a MT ET.

that's fair enough

most guys on the forums seem to run kinda meh tires that don't have a hope of hooking with any real power.

I know drag radials are technically street tires, but I've only heard of a small handful of people with Z's or G's that actually drive with them on the street. So when someone says they run "street tires" I immedately think KDW, Nitto 555's, PS2's, T1-R's, etc. Otherwise I'd think they'd say they run "competition tires" or "drag radials"

I know I would run drag radials though if I was mainly interested in straight line traction (at the expense of handling)
Power is pointless if you can't hook it up to the ground

i will get the power there, you have to put it down to the ground!!

11s are hard to do without some DRs, especially for a full weight car. still its very possible on street tires.

see ya soon!!

What is meant by "cut the **** out of the tree mean? Same thing as cutting a good light? If so, what would "cutting a good light" have to do with e.t.? Timer does not start until AFTER you break the starting line beam, correct? Reaction time would have NOTHING to do with overall e.t.? You could sit at starting line forever after light turns green. E.T. would be no different. Correct me if im wrong.

My normal everyday driving map will be 500whp. He will also be creating an all out map to see what can be done with the cams and TT kit on 93 octane.

With the 500whp my goal is to run low 11's 123mph at the track on street tires. With the take no prisoners map and drag radials I hope to be in the mid 10's 130mph.

The car is going in Wenesday for the install. I will pick up the car on a Wednesday or a Friday. Those are the nights when the local track is open and will head directly there. We are going to back up our dyno charts with impressive numbers at the track. Stay tuned!!!

Make a post when you are heading out to the track...it would be nice to have some other FI Gs/Zs to hang out with.

pro-tree ==> all 3 yellow bulbs light up at the same time for .400 sec and then the green bulb lights. instead of 3 bulbs lighting one at a time and .500 being a perfect reaction time, .400 is a perfect reaction time. pretty much on a pro-tree, as soon as you see yellow, go!

+1 /\ what he said. Yeah... usually the faster cars run the pro-tree... but that hasn't stopped me. The reason the faster cars run it is because it is usually the light used in the faster classes. I like a pro tree much better.

run in the "no time" class and write "Pro" on your rear window. They do it at Moroso, but I'm not sure if they do at OSW.
