Looking good.

Gus, do you have any pics of the sleeve sinkage you saw? The install must have been terrible, and they didnt follow the machining instructions. Perhaps they didnt sink....maybe they were probably never seated or decked correctly from the get-go?? When you checked the deck for straightness, what level of deflection did you see?

I mentioned in the prior posts that it was a machine shop screw up, the sleeves should not sink if done properly. I think the guy machined the block/sleeves without making sure they were settled properly, he also failed to open up the cooling passage as stated in the instructions from Darton. Luckily I used a different shop for the rest of the block work, I just figured I was safe giving it to a Darton Distributor to have done

I didn't take pictures but you could feel the difference in height between the sleeve and the block as the edge would catch on the fingernail, we also put a straight edge and you could see the difference, did bother to measure as it was so obvious.

Once I saw it I realized what had happened and also explained what I was experiencing, which was blowing coolant out the reservoir when boosting and having air constantly in the system but no evidence of coolant on the outside of the heads and no coolant in the oil. My first thought was that it was a headgasket issue but with L19's and HKS headgasket I couldn't believe it.

Yeah, that can be frustarting for sure. We havent had an HKS/L19 combo ever leak, so you should be good there. Glad it's all sorted out. Enjoy the smoothness and precision of the FCON.

As a shop, how would you handle a situation where the customer brought his car in and said "I want 600whp and a standalone ECM". How would you go about deciding if the AEM was better for the app, or the FCON? Since they're similar in features....

Irrelivant post for this thread, dont know what your intentions are by asking me this However, I would most likely sell him the Fcon since it is plug and play for the Z and the AEM is more of a universal unit, that is not really endorsed by AEM at this point. i honestly let my customers decide what they want, I only give them guidance and suggestions of proven formulas. Any further question on how I conduct my business please feel free to PM me or call my shop or Aim me so as not to pollute Westpacks thread..
Thank you
Regards
Julian

Whoa man I was just asking! I wasn't implying anything by that post! But you're right I shouldn't clutter up this thread. I just didn't know what the weighing factors were in recommending one or the other since they're so similar in function.

Dude why are you trying to bait him on this thread? Take your hate somewhere else and grow up.

Did you not read my response to him? I'm asking an honest question (although admittedly not in the right thread) about how a shop that sold both units would decide which to use in a certain application. I don't see how that's "baiting" anyone.

Why would I have anything against him in the first place?

I thought it was an honest Q-one that I asked Sharif and he responded with good points. I would like to hear Julian's and other vendors responses as well. But like always, Julian gets his panties in a bunch when anybody asks a Q-as he usually takes that as an insult or somebody challenging his intelligence What a classy guy

Looks like the start of a flame fest to me..At any rate, its good to see you have not forgotten me Alberto, nice to know you still care..lol
I simply felt his Questions were directed at achieving 2 things, one of which was to get my attention in a negative way, the other to take this thread off topic..

Westpack, great job on the build and tune, keep it up!!

I dont respond to things until I notice you call me and Briguymax names in a thread neither of us posted in and for no reason. The day you stop posting garbage towards me, I'll stop pointing out the obvious-that your a d!ck. Notice until now I havent said/posted one bad thing about you/your shop since I told you Id stop. If we end up in flame fests its not myself that loses, its you for obvious reasons. Have a nice day.

edit-nice to see you took me off your ignore list btw

And to remind you what Im speaking of-you wrote this for no reason...

Yes it does feel better, I am still playing with it, I can get obsessive about things and want to get as close to perfect as I can, with 750cc injectors it idles fairly well, using target AF sure makes things easier, just have to work on the idle intake temp and water temp maps a little more.

And yes it can raise the rev limiter, I also set up the 2-step and it sounds wild when in use.
