Talking Kinda got the Mod Bug.

Well it's been two days since my car was picked up and in route to Forged Performance. I have a '07 G35 with a whopping 2235 miles and I'm going F/I.

I am having Sharif and his staff build my engine, install a Greddy TT and many other extras. It should be gone for about a month or so.

I am taking advantage of the free shipping to and from Georgia back to my home in Oklahoma. Sharif and his staff have been very helpful and I feel very confident that my car is in very good hands.

Not that Sharif needs a pat on the back, but I want to mention something that is very telling about his character.

Because I am not bringing the car to him and I am not going to be able to pick it up I am exempt from any Georgia sales tax. I knew this, but wasn't thinking about it until after Sharif mentioned this to me. In all honesty I might have completely overlooked it had I been charged sales tax. Doesn't make me look very smart does it? My point is whatever the sales tax is in Georgia Sharif could have charged that to me and put the money in his pocket! This is a very common practice (very illegal) in the service industry when dealing with items that are shipped, delivered, picked-up to different locations.

Some guys might say well of course he wouldn't do that but until someone is put into a situation you never really know their true character.

I just wanted to tell my story of dealing with Sharif and I'm sure if he reads this he'll be very obligated to take off 25% of the total project.

I'll update soon and eventually post pictures of my setup once completed and back in Oklahoma.

G35JCC, thanks for the post. And coincidentally your car just rolled off the trailer! It really is BRAND new....100% stock...just the type we like.

Just for clarification, the 07 coupe has the VQ35DE (rev-up engine), and not the HR.

This is going to be a fun project. It is a ground up transformation into an amazing supercar-killing machine. Engine, wheels, drivetrain, brakes..the works!

Yeah your're probably right on the modzilla? I have to blame Sharif though for the extent at which I am modding. Not only is he a great builder/tuner, but he's also a great salesman. That being said I've never met a good salesman that didn't completely understand his product. I'm glad he has sold me though. Anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Yeah that kind of attitude is going to make me broke! Perfect example of how the mod bug might actually be a disease. I know a good psychiatrist that might be able to help us all.

that's weird that a 07 doesn't have an hr engine.

G35JCC, where in OK are you located? I'm in Tulsa, and I'd love to check out your car when it's all finished.
