Default Got a crack on Greedy exhaust manifold

Hi I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.
My greedy exhaust mafifold which has ceramic coating got a crack between the last two cilinders. I will try to see if they will be covered by warranty.
Has anyone else notice if their manifolds are still intact?

I have seen one manifold crack before, and it was heat treated. It is pretty rare, but it can happen.

How old is the kit? If you are in a jam, the crack can be cut open, and re-welded.

That is some fairly good usage out of it. I think the stresses and heat eventually take their toll. Where exactly did it crack? Pass or driver side?

I saw a greddy tt'd G35 at Performance Factory with this problem. I think the manifold was welded and it cracked again (this happened before it was brought into the shop). It was shooting out white smoke from under the hood but still making halfway decent power.

Stage II still out of stock...waiting on AAM to finish up. I dont think they are any good alternatives, without making your own. I can get you a replacement manifold for about $300, IIRC. Shoot me an email or call on Tues.

I have seen 2 such cases, one being mine. Mine was just one manifold but the other guy was both manifolds cracked. Both being early kits.

bump this up. was getting ready to ceramic coat my manifolds and other parts and noticed a crack between 3-5 on pass. manifold. dang crack is about 200 degrees around the whole diameter. brought it to my welder and he can't patch it without it cracking on cooldown. may need another one.
anyone else had luck with welding it and it staying sealed?

will give another guy a shot. sounds like the casting is really thin in that area, and also sounds like the same spot others have had probs too.

same happened to mine, i had one of the earlier kits. they replaced mine for like 200 bucks i think... i think it happened about 2.5 years later IIRC.

i wonder if they have made adjustments to their casting mold yet? they are aware of the issue and stock replacements, so i would assume they have tried to fix it by now?

Cant you weld it on the outside and the inside to help seal it, prevent the crack from becoming worse. Also doesnt ceramic coating take away from the life of the manifolds? Either way good luck fixing/replacing.

no room to weld on the inside. found a place today that specializes in welding cast cylinder heads. they made me feel very positive that with their process it will never fail again (in that area atleast). seems that is the spot where most are cracking so, i should be good after the repair. they will also need to resurface the mounting flange when done and i guess their trick is letting the thing cool down over a 24 hour period. should be better than new. cost=$100

good luck with the warranty service. I've had bad luck with greddy products in the past. After so many failed products, I concluded they make poor quality products. No customer service either....

Exhaust rotted out from the inside out, spec II boost controller solenoid broke (leaking) after 3 months.. (took them over half a year to send me another one), Boost gauge needle was way off after a month of usage... they said "too bad."
