LOL, I'm pretty sure JET is just trying to correct some of his bad Karma and rid himself of that curse! Props in any case.

Good thread JET! Good of you stand behind your promise. Can't ask for anything more. I know the guys at Turbonetics appreciate it. They work really hard for the Z/G community and really go above and beyond any other manufacturer that I've seen.

Surprised to see that someone appologized for a statement they realized was out of line. Theres reasons for everything, even when we are left in the dark waiting for that reason to hit us....

Aside from that, I was in the process of getting my car dyno'd and discovered the same white smoke discharge from my exhaust upon decelleration. I was advised that this is consistent with TN turbos.. when the bearings become over heated, the oil burns 10x's hotter and ie produces the white smoke on the hot side of the turbo.

The explination made sense to me because everytime we let it cool down before the run, there was no smoke, but when we hit it consistently back to back to back... the white smoke was prominante.

I also notice that when the turbo gets really hot, it sounds a lot more rough.. like a damn truck in there... but it keeps running hard like a champ.... I am consistent with 10lbs of boost @ 400hp, 6800rpm on a mustang dyno... the more conservitive dyno from what i have heard.

Thats my two cents of explaination..lol( )

That may very well be the case. I had an insulating turbo blanket on my car which kept the heat in amazingly well. I am sure the liquid cooling will elimate these problems. There are many factors that could have caused smoking on my car. Oil returnm melting, oil reurning to the pan spacer, turbo insulating jacket, and motor issues. I can't narrow it down to the turbo in all fairness to Turbonetics. It may be a combination of all these factors.

Thanks Dave!

Get back and up Jet I can only imagine the boost withdrawal is killing you or just even not being in my Z would kill me.

I only put 3000 miles on this car since last June when I blew my stock motor and 600 of that was comming back from Sharif's. I don't even remember what it's like driving it.

Hopefully I will have the car back soon. I'm driving a horrible Dodge Caravan. I hate this car!

OMG I know the feeling, ask Jeremy lol. I had to drive a minivan for almost 6 months when my car was down. That downtime however, made the first day of getting to drive the car again real real sweet! Can't wait to see where your project goes! GL!

I know a couple local owners that have +600hp ST V6's...but they're all GN/TTYPE owners. One has a SBC ST setup making over 1000hp. Go hit up turbobuick.com...tons of ST owners on that site

Wow Larry .... Cool. I was distancing my self from the Drama and doing my own thing with the TN because of the run amok epidemic that I didnt have the time or patience for. Hope that some progress can now be made in a positive direction to remedy a prob that is backed by some of the key players with combined experience and input.

Will wonders never cease?
