True, I was thinking more about it and I guess it depends on how it works when you use it.

Thanks for being an *** though. You east coast guys seem to have that down to a science...

Yep. You could always move here. Of course, your car would only be average but at least it wouldn't be so boring.

I'm also torn between running open dumps or not. The sound is very cool, but I don't want to get tired of it.

what am I being an *** about? because I put in my reply? You tend to rebutt alot of my posts, so I was just making a correction to yours.

BTW, has anyone actually felt a difference in the "gain" function on the UTEC boost control. I have tried high numbers and low numbers and it doesn't seem to do much of anything.

....back on topic.........

who makes open dumps? SVRT, SGP, and AAM. are those the players? anyone have a good comparison between these? I recently heard alot of positive things about the SGP units from Jeremy, but I have never seen any of them.

... my atmosphere dump sounds annoying to me on some days.. and sounds like fun on others... so i dunno, i guess i can see both points of view.

sounds like hell breaking loose to me on my motivated days of driving.. then it sounds aggravating on others...

I was tired of the open dumps from the waste gate and just tied them into my test pipes. This required a bit of fabrication of 1 1/2 exhaust pipe. I'll send or post pictures of the installation if anyone is interested.

I have the wastegate relocation kit from SGP which lowered the wastegates under the engine and simply replaced the dump line with new flanged 1 1/2" line with a welded connection into the test pipe.

Chris at Engine Logic built and installed for me yesterday.( 4 hours labor plus a little material cost) Sounds quite now when you get down on it. You can actually hear the exhaust note of the 2 1/2" APS exhaust . Also, there was no noticeable loss in power. I ran a dyno test after installing but since it was a different dyno manufacturer , I don't have a good comparison for before and after. Anyway I am happy with the results.

Do you really want to hear that with his car being right next to your driver,s window.Let me tell you it woke me up real quick.

To bring this thread back, are there any new updates?

I want to recirculate or put some kind of muffler on mine here soon.

Thanks

For the TN kit the open dumps are the only way to go becasue they keep you from loosing all the top end power. Not to mention they sound ****ing BEAST. Nothing is better than driving by some prissy lady in a ragne rover sipping a latte and hitting it and watching he face. I don't know if its as much of a "Gain" of power as much as it is a Holding the power instead of making it drop off from 64-70

I also have TN's with open dump. One of the cheapest, best things I've done. I love it when it roars. I guess I'm set for life on doing this again.
