Default Fuel Leak @ Sending Unit

I have a G35 w/ the AAM FR. Last night as im driving home I start to smell gas and then notice that my fuel gauge is droping fast. I get home pull the seat and it leak from the sending unit. My question is that im not sure if it was just the o-ring or if it the fuel return fitting. I took the SU out and as soon as I touched the O-ring it expanded bigger. And had two little pieces of film on it from the grey hose that runs down the SU. Thinking thats the cause of the fuel leak, but would that leak it even through the inspection plate?

Already replaced the oring but not sure if I should take apart the nozzle and add some sealant to the washer ontop of the SU.

Help me please.....

Or should I take the washer off and add sealant in between, or just put it around the washer and fitting.

You were getting fuel past the cover plate over the fuel tank? Was there a large puddle on the ground when you parked the car?

Teflon tape or paste doesnt belong on AN fittings

the only places you could be leaking fuel from the SU would be around the sides with the large o-ring that you are already considering... or a bad seal at the bulkhead fitting you pictured. I would just focus effort on those 2 places, then reinstall and fill the tank and start the car. If you dry it all off and its leaking then, you should be able to spot the source.

I had the exact same problem. It was the large o-ring that was bad. $10 fix and no more leaks here.
