they ran 14s by taking stuff out of the car. and either way, you cant tell me that the 4th gen was faster than the 5.5 gen.
255hp > 190hp

The 5.5gen is definitely faster than the 4th gen is without a doubt, but guys have run low 14s in 5.5 gens stock and mid-high 14s in 4th gens stock. Anyone who says otherwise is just plain wrong. I've done it in three different cars (14.87@93 my first time ever at the track in my 96, 14.51 @ 94.5 in my 95, and 14.88 @ 93 in my old buddy Jaime's 4th gen who by the way was also stuck in the 15s like most people are.) The only weight reduction any of those cars had was removed spare tire and jack from the trunk.
BTW magazine writers are not professional drivers, they are professional writers who write about cars and drive them for a day or two. Anyone who doesn't believe that people run faster in all sorts of cars than the magazine times is also just plain wrong.

Why don't you go to SAR with me on the 11th. So far all I have is a guy from work in a Subaru. All the Austin Z guys are just standing next to their car with a can of wax in their hand. Yeah I know it's a Wednesday, you wanna race or wait in line for hours. Call in sick or take a vacation day.
