the current shop fixed a lot of problems the the SP AEM had, trust me they are a great tuner, I think the exhaust might be keeping me back??

I need more info like what gear they ran in, maybe that dyno reads low, A/F there are a tons of questions to ask.

I am getting the car tonight and going to get it dynoed at other places for sure.......

I'm not going to give up I know what this should make.

idk man. either something is wrong with your install/car or the tune sucks... take your pick.

they could have dyno'd ur car in 4th gear, most people dyno in 5th cause of the 1 to 1 ratio, 5th gear puts down more power
or maybe its just a low reading dynojet. remember a dyno is just a tool, the one true dyno is trap speed, take it to the track and see what it traps at then compare to similarly modded cars' trap speeds

The last time I dyno'd my car I did both a 4th and 5th gear run. 5th gear was only 20whp more than
4th. It's not a huge difference between 4th and 5th.

Andy, have them email larry and I the map

xxsupraxx@aol.com

chris@spracingonline.com

Aside from the cold start issue there shouldn't be any issues tuning fuel and ign, boost comp, etc. with the aem.

Also, did they do any logging with the aem? if so please send those, that would help a great deal.

Thanks
Chris

update:

the reading pull was is in 4th gear,
A/F was 11.0:1 very steady AEM can do that great as well as control timing.
The tune was keep rich b/c boost could not be controled all the way, see below.

The graph is being emailed to me tomorrow, it starts off great it hits 13 psi not problem than boost starts to drop for some reason we can't hold boost @ 13 psi it drops off. If it wasn't for that we were easily on our way to 500+.!!!

Im not that worried any more.

To clearify the AEM from SP is great when driving and tuning it was doing that great as expected
-idle and cold start are still pretty ****y but better.

with only 400ft lbs of tq, something is amiss... with the smaller exhaust and cats, you should be getting back pressure which would allot for higher torque... what type of boost controller do you have?

i'm partial to the HKS EVC controller... but, the greddy profec e-01 (i'm guessing this is what you have?) should do the job... my turboxs manual did ok at 13psi... i can't imagine it would do any better than the profec...

i'm thinking the actuators may be the issue here, not the Boost controler.

The VQ platform is very sensitive to back pressure and you'll continue to run around in circles unless you address that issue first. Like many have already stated, ditch your cats and get a good size down pipe and exhaust if you want to make big power...

Sounds like a boost issue. Do they have a boost log? You could be hitting 13psi, but if you are tapering to 10psi near the power peak, then you only making 10psi, and then the numbers sound right.
