Default APS did it again! Z06 Twin Turbo

The guys from the land down under did it again.

I might remove my deposit on the GTR and get a Corvette with TT.

As much as I like Corvettes (C6 and C6 ZO6) I wouldn't twin turbo the Z06 unless I was building the motor as well. The power it puts down on the stock motor with the TT is only slightly higher than the C6 TT. I know the Z06 has more than just power over the regular C6, but TT'ing a Z06 would put you close to $100K with the cost of the car. I'd just go C6 with an APS TT and some suspension and brake mods for way less than that. Maybe even a Z06 with just bolts on.

None the less they are nice kits for both the C6 and C6 Z06.

Is it just me or does 625 seem low for a Twin Turbo kit on that engine? You can get that engine over 500 with bolt ons! That is a very capable engine of huge amounts of horsepower. There are Z's rolling around with more horsepower than that...Something is just not adding up to me.

that motor can't take too much boost.....very high compression. 625whp was done on only 6psi.

I have to agree... The TT'ed Ford Gt will rape it.

Relatively, this is on par with the twin kit for the 350z. Understand that, these turbos are larger than the Gt30's that come with the 350z kit. Furthermore, the 350z, makes almost 175-200rwhp more hp stock as well. Also, the Z06 comes with 175 rwhp more than the Z stock! So in all, the Z's performance is right on par, with a motor twice its size. Go ahead, I have the flame suit on!

Actually... the LS7 is physically smaller than the engine in the 350z (PLUS it weighs ~100lbs less)

+1

Just buy a regular C6 w/ APS and spent the rest on a built motor.

That ZO6 LS7 was meant for NA and nothing else..

Yeah but with a Z06 you get INSANE gearing . . . . .

I guess you could swap gears from a C6 with a Z06?

I agree the kit performs, but that's about all your are going to get with the stock motor. Not saying that 625whp is not good just that it is a lot of loot for for a C6 Z06 and APS TT. I'd rather go with a C6 and APS TT, brakes, and suspension. I would only get about 75whp less than the Z06 with APS TT, but for a lot less $. Try boosting the C6 Z06 up to 9-10 psi on the stock motor like some do on the VQ35 and see what happens.

there are A LOT of differences between the C6 and C6 Z06!!

If someone has the $$$$$, then the Z06 is the best buy Period. (carbon fiber, magnesium, aluminum, dry sump, brakes, wheel width, lighter, higher redline, and the engine of course). Not to mention all the little things like fluifd coolers, etc. And 10.9:1 vs 11:1 compression (in the LS2 vs LS7 respectively) is Not going to make too much difference in the hands of someone capable, with the added benefit of response.

oh yeah, and What VQ has over 400 LB FT at 2500RPM!???
