What's the word on turbo blankets causing failure to the turbos? Especially w/o the water cooling option..

Turbonetics is starting to stock some heat blankets or you can find the Boost Logic ones online. http://www.titanmotorsports.com/bolotubl.html

Well the more heat you retain in the turbine the higher the thermal transfer to the bearing section and the side affect may be a failed seal. Of course now with the water cooled bearing available it should be a non-factor.

I heard since you are closing in heat you can cook the seals but I really doubt it. Its seems to me that the actual part the blanket wraps is is more the housing than where the seals are.

Not really. The turbine housing on the Z kit is a Kolkelen turbine housing a bit larger then most T3s.

TN and Seibon VT hood. No problems at all. I like the fact that the VT has vents that just happen to be right above the turbo. You can see all the heat coming out when your at a stop.

I had the turbo blanket for about 6 months before I blew up. I've never had a single issue with the paint or heat causing any issues with the hood. The only issues I had with the hood were due to veilside and the crappy parts they make.
