That's just it, noone is willing to waste a high buck engine build on such a kit. Our heads flow well in stock form. yes, cams will help, but with power falling off so considerably, they will have to be dubbed, in TN fashion, "Stage 100" cams to bring that curve around. You can run this with a utec, or even an Fcon, it won't matter. all you will being doing is pulling an insane amount of timing. MRC isn't the only tuner around stating the kit just pumps hot air into the motor, there are other tuners around saying the same thing,
Hokey, Crappy, Sh!tty.... you take your pic as to what the proper word is to describe the TN setup
According to just as many techs the same descriptions could be applied to the APS ST kit. I guess a better use for those terms should be the service APS provides to their customers.
Northeast, westcoast, midwest, you name it. I've seen spun bearings from all over the country. I don't think theres an unusually high amount coming out of Florida.
Isn't AJ putting down in the 550 whp range with a Turbonetics Kit?
I wouldn't say its impossible to get 500 whp, but I will say that $40,000 is wayyyyy too much money for that car.
I honestly don't know why our cars aren't worth more built and boosted. We spend upwards of $40-70k buying and building our rides. Everyone seems to think that its not worth it. Yet, some clown with a 2JZ fetish will pay more for a 12 year old stock supra with a kabillion miles on it than a 3 year old fully built Z. Am I the only one that realizes this?

Supply and demand. Theres so many Zs out there right now even with a built motor its hard to get what you put into it. Its a little harder to find someone parting ways with a 2JZ-GTE Supra then it is to find someone parting ways with a stock or even built Z. Most people sink about $20k into a 350Z to build the motor, etc. Look around at the price for just the 2JZ-GTE Getrag trans. I don't think its right either but unfortunately Supply and Demand kills us. Besides getting 600-700 WHP out of a Supra is a known deal. The stock motor and trans WILL hold it. There's not as much guesswork as there is on the Z even still. Taking the car price out of it, its far cheaper to make 600 WHP reliably on a Supra then it is to do so on a Z.

No, but unfortunately only the guys that have spent the money on building such a Z/G know the value. When I blew my built motor I was going to rebuild and sell the car. I was getting some rediculous offers so I basically told everyone to *** off and go build their own so they can see what they would be paying. I have pretty much decided to keep my G forever as it is not worth selling. In a few years I'll move on to another car, but I will still keep the G under a car cover in my driveway as I will have to make room in the garage for my new baby. Maybe sometime in the far away future the G might increase in value as the Supra has. LOL
