I hope this doesn't start a huge debate, but why haven't we seen any twin turbos put out this kind of power yet? Isn't the SFR kit supposed to be good up to this hp level, using the appropriate turbos?

You might see an SFR twin turbo car equipped making the 1000WHP soon

They posted a video in an earlier thread...

http://host.turbo6.net/injectedperfo...0z_880rwhp.wmv

Of course it was only making 880hp at that time...

I'm sure there's even more to be had.

I'd love to see what someone can really do on a regular 3.5l VQ as well.

Yes, .... it's been quite a while ago that they put down well over 1000WHP, .... but they don't come on this board much, ... so they must not exist

Well, the reason I mentioned this is that to me, from my research, this turbo, seemed wayyy too big. And the power drop off is likely NOT from the lower manifold entirely, but from the turbine A/R choice.

Did you get the .96, 1.08, 1.23, or the 1.39 A/R exhaust housing? The reason I say this is that he exhaust/turbine side exduceer diameter+the blade-to-wall clearance together have to be considered together with the A/R of the turbine. So, you already start out with a very large exducer blade diameter, and if you pick a too high a A/R, the turbo spool will be affected, while picking too low an A/R may spool up the turbos too quickly and hit the surge line on the compressor (since the compressor is really big).

I think that hte shape of your power curve has a lot to do with the above compressor/turbine choices. But, it doesn't really matter to you guys it seems since this is obviously a drag car project, not a well-balanced street car. I am not raining on your parade, that's truly incredible power that the car is making now, but was just curious of your research on the turbocharger sizing.
How would all this matter? The turbo is sooo big I dont see how it could effect it that much. The big dog supras running this turbo take it to 10k.

You guys are crazy, this is on a powerglide... not a 6 speed, the converter's catching up and thats why its losing 300whp by redline.. This car is not making 1016whp to the tire.. Granted it's nice to fathom, and i'd hate to ruin anyones dreams and sound like a troll. But if this car hit the track at 27 psi it's not going to trap the speed for 1000whp.

Everyone's got an opinion on this, so here's what I see -

1. Car made 1000+whp on a built VQ (first one that's not pro-drag)
2. Engine built with the Brian Crower stroker kit (amid recent debate of BC not being a proven product)
3. Haltech for engine management (first soon to be released alternative to the F-Con)
4. Single turbo (not twins)
5. L19 11mm head studs (not 1/2")

So how many other myths about making huge power on our cars is going to be smashed? Great work guys...
