Thumbs up **UPDATED w/ VIDEO** Good 'Ole Boys + 650whp = ????

** Hey guys, thought I would bring this one back, since someone sent me a camera phone video of the burnout... quality is pretty crappy, but still looks pretty cool! Added the link at the bottom of the pictures... **

Thought I would just share some pictures from this Good 'Ole Boy party I went to this past weekend with the Z up in Fort Wayne, IN.

This is a party that has been going on for the past 27 years and was started by a group of high school buddies back in 1980! Now it has grown to about 300 cars and 500-600 people every year. They have a burn out competition, live bands, and a contest to see how long a junker will last with a brick on the accelerator pedal. I know, I know... Kinda hick stuff, but a lot of fun! It is completely put on my these 5-6 guys and no sponsors... pretty impresive if you ask me.

Most of the cars there were big block Chevys, tubbed out on drag slicks... A few mustangs and Mopar stuff too. I was one of the only imports there and had to repersent in the smoke show... Plus I had drank enough by that point my buddy convinced me that it was a good idea to let him do the burn out, lol First and probably last time my car will ever do that!

And here is the video...

Yeah not to mention the 2 step was throwing fire out the exhaust right before he popped the clutch! Put it this way I was answering questions about the car the rest of the day!

Nice pics. How's the meth tune working out? Your numbers have me convinced to get a kit/retune.

Meth is holding up great! One of the best mods I have done to the car...

I think there are only a few kits out there that I would reccomend, but with the right kit you can make great power and add some saftey as well.

Yeah I remember him drifting behind me up one of the turns at ZDayZ. The BOV/open dumps sounded pretty crazy.

way too negative I can tell you that much... Problem is the tires I bought, BFG KDWs 285/35/19 on the GT-S Volks on +18 offset. They barely clear the fenders when the car squats or goes over bumps. I need to either get a less wide/tall tire or shave the wheel down 3-5mm. Then I can camber the tire back more possitive... Only getting 85-90% contact patch as it sits right now.

That's the situation I was in when I went with the BFG 285's, even with the fenders cut. I had to send them back and order 275's because they were so much wider than my previous falkens kf-451's. I even ordered somefk-452's in 285 and they were even wider than the BFGs, and sent them back too...

I'd rather run less camber and a narrower tire than a wider tire and crazy camber.

edit - fukc this server!

I have heard of a few guys pulling the fenders out slightly and getting the clearance they need... Just too nervous to try that! I am looking into having the centers of the wheel milled down 3-5mm at a machine shop. This should allow me to put at least .5deg more pos camber back there... Just need to make sure the rim can be machined that far and still have enough for the lug nut to bite on to.

You mean rolling the fenders? Yeah, I know a lot that have their fenders rolled I had mine cut because it ended up being a lot cheaper.

If you haven't already rolled them I'd rather try that than grinding down the hub on the wheel.

Mine are cut too... You can also pull them out slightly with some body tools. I am not sure if I am willing to try this or not. Guess it depends on if I can mill the wheel. I would go with a narrower tire, but honestly I need all the tire I can get on the ground!

Get some 18" wheels and DR's, that's what I plan on doing.

Even DR's in 245's will grip a LOT better than 300rw street tires. With that power I doubt you'll even tell any difference whatsoever between 275's and even 305's (street tires) in the rear...
