It's not rich at all. It just doesn't read right when it does display. It's all been checked out. Today, all it read was O2 and 19's. Back and fourth.

Yes

Make sure to get the VW wideband sensor... and it will plug right in. It's VW part number 021-906-262-B. That's exactly where Innovate sources them from....VW. In fact, this is on Page 16 in the LM-1 manual.

EDIT: Also, Page 17 of the LC-1 manual.

I am very tempted to tear it out and just not deal with it anymore. I liked it while it worked (for those couple of months anyway) but it has been pretty much useless for many months now and a even after a couple of new sensors have been tried...
BamBam...

So, you are having an issue with the XD-16 not displaying it correctly?

I might be able to fix that:

1) Make sure that all your serial connectors (i.e. the stereo plugs) are plugged in securely. Then wrap good quality electrical tape (Scotch 3x series) around the mating moint...

2) If you have and LC-1/XD-16 combo make sure that your LC-1 is properly terminated (i.e. the terminator plug is plugged into the "in" of the LC-1, then of course from the "out" of the LC-1 to the "in" of the XD-16, then from the "out" of the XD-16 to your laptop - the last part if optional).

3) If you are getting some readings but they are just not right (i think others reported that here), it's an issue with interpretation of digital signal by the XD-16. So, terminate the XD-16 by plugging in the terminator into the 'In" of the XD-16 (not the LC-1) signaling to it that it should be the primary device. With your laptop's serial port plugged into the XD-16 "out" port, connect to it via the latest version of the LM Programmer. Make sure the Fuel type is set to gasoline. If need be, set it to a different fuel, and back to gasoline (14.7:1 stoic). Reconnect your chain and see if it works now.

4) If not, do the same procedure for the LC-1 now, terminating it, connecting to it's out port with the laptop, and using the LM Programmer in step 3. See if that fixes it. Depending if either one of these fixes it, you'll know which device is the culprit.

5) Now, if it works, then goes out again, reconnect to the device that you isolated as the initial culprit, and reflash the firmware with the LM Programmer (the firmwares are available on Innovate web site under "support"). This means that there was a bug with the initial factory flash of the firmware, and this should fix it.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if it does. If not, and assuming you have a new sensor, then it's the hardware...and I am sure they'll swap it out for you.

My largest gripe about the Innovate was that it shipped in 'Custom' mode instead of 'gasoline'. Took me about 3 days of troubleshooting symptoms similar to that of the OP until I realized this oversight.

BTW, the $40-50 is a hook up price that I got once because the VW parts guy is a friend of mine. Whatever it is, i was just making a point that you can get the sensor at a VW dealer and don't have to go through Innovate, but knowing what dealers charge regularly, might as well go through Innovate or an Innovate distributor to get the part, as it's probably going to be the same thing. I think the unit retails for $82 or smth. I may be wrong.
