Default Is my Z worth this crap??

I just got back from Oklahoma tonight, spending Turkey day with my girlfriend and her parents, but coming back...man oh man. I get pulled over just past Dallas headed back to Fort Hood, and the cop just basically made a mockery of the fact that I have a Valentine One, cuz he just "instant-on'd" me, and caught me doing 80 in a 60. Thankfully, he was cool about it, impressed with the Z, and gave me a warning. So that's a bonus for the Z I guess. BUT....coming back on Fort Hood, I get this ******* jeep that suddenly swerves in front of me while I'm coming in the main gate. So after the I.D. check, I change lanes and blast past him. Screw this guy, right? Well, he starts tailgate-ing me, and he's RIGHT ON MY ***, so I'm like, "**** this" and I slam on my brakes. Yeah, he came that close to hitting the Z but at that point I didn't care. The MP's saw this and pulled us both over separately, they gave me a bit of grief but didn't call me in, don't know about the other guy. Eh, I guess my point is, I'm getting worn out worrying about this damn car!!!!!!!!! I was actually fondly remembering my old Prizm for a second here tonight...I've already got rock chips from some ******* truck the FIRST time I drove it so that "first" is over with but the worrying where to park, keeping it clean, not getting door dings, etc., is just getting old. I'm gonna have a heart attack before this damn car is one year old!

Edit: and *YES*, I know other people have had it a LOT worse! but this crap just wears me down...

All I can tell you is to remeber its just a car. Its a beautiful car and when i get mine i'll probably be stressing over ever little thing, but evetually I think I'll calm down. You have to remember sh*t happens, so try not to worry too much about the car.

its juts a car, but its a beautiful car, ever see that VW commercial where the car is parked in front of the grocery store and the shopping cart is rolling towards it and the guy jumps at the cart and tackles it...........THATS ME!! That is so how I am.

I laugh everytime i see that commercial. Anyway, dont stress about it, just be cautious, dont park it next to minivans(they seem to be the worst about slamming doors into your car) youll get used to it

Wait a minute!!! You are upset that you HAVE to worry about your car??? Am I getting this straight? AND, you had someone behind you and YOU SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES??? Now that is just brilliant isn't it. So what did you expect to accomplish with that move? Best case scenario: no accident, you get pulled over (exactly what happened). Worse case: two cars in a BAD accident, drivers (and possibly passengers) badly hurt or killed.

Sounds like you got off pretty easy doesn't it? Quit your bitchin', drive safely, and enjoy the car.

Eventually, almost all cars turn into "Ultimate Utility Vehicles." After a while, you don't care where you park, you don't care that the road is full of potholes and rocks, you don't care about the latest dent from rock chips or door dings. It becomes just a car. Hopefully, this won't happen to your Z.

Default Nope ... . nope nope nope

My 7 year old Dodge Ram has no door dings.. it has quite a few small chips in the hood ( off road balloon chasing ).. but I will treat this Z the same way I treat all my vehicles.. park far away.... and near a lamp post. Pay attention to the area I am in. Dont let the other guy cause you to lose it... They win if you do something foolish... Let em race in front of you.. smile.. see how childish the act ( had a eclipse do this to me yesterday I smiled and slowed down as they raced past ). I know what my Z can do.. and their beater is laughable! Worry about the Z.. its fun! I have never had a car I loved as much as this.. I expect people to be stupid.. I drive defensivly.

And all you Z drivers.. I like you too....

Sounds like someone needs anger management classes .

Take a chill pill and slow down. If you drive like a maniac, you'll be stressed like one.

Well, Old I know how you feel. I just got my first ticket ever. I've only had the car five days. I just can't believe it. 70 in a 55. State Trooper saw easy pickings and went for it. I too am starting to get concerned about living with this car. I've also experienced the "front valence versus the curb" issue posted by others and almost hit a deer on the way home. Is this car going to be unlucky or what? My last Nissan (which I still own) has been the luckiest car I've owned. If this keeps up, I'm selling the Z, buying a pickup truck and devoting 100% of my car budget to SCCA racing.

Fly.

Default Heres another Type jerk I hate..

Dont know what to do about it though..

I hate .. I mean HATE.. the jerks that do the sliding pass so close to your rear corner that you think they are part of your car... I always look at them as they come next to me to see if there is a sloping forhead driving .. most times its a pin head with a cel phone stapled to their ear...

No respect.. I get no respect....

You wouldn't want respect from the idiots who drive like that anyway. They often are disturbed, or worse, and engaging them is not a good idea. Ignoring them gets easier with perfect practice. Enjoy that great car.

[i]...I will not be joining a 'Z' club. That in itself makes you an *******. Oh, I want to be Z'kateer! Get a life people! I believe peoples real lives are not being treated properly because if hunk of metal and aluminum...
Wow. That's a pretty MAJOR mass-condemnation from someone who considers himself to be so intelligent. I agree with a lot of what you said in your choppy jibberish about the forums, but you lost me on the Z Club comment. Watch this, Mr. Intelligence: I'm about to start a new paragraph.

Paragraphs are cool, because they help maintain a train of thought in civilized communication instead of becoming a huge word salad that makes little sense. [There are books available on how this works]

At the risk of validating your comments with a response, I have been in two Z Clubs and also know literally hundreds of club people from all over the US via the ZCCA. I've never met one I considered to be an *******, although they were all different and from totally varied walks of life.

Sometimes small-minded people consider anyone who is different to be an *******. Since you are so quick to stereotype people who have "letters in front of their names" or are in a Z Club without knowing those people and what they are really like, I would speculate that you're pointing your finger in the wrong direction.

*******.
