But why lie?

I think the point now is to prove him wrong and tell him not to lie about numbers.

rolling on 20's... lol - he should be more focused on getting the power he has down to the ground...

I still think anything more than 500-550whp on the street is pretty useless...

Thats correct, on the 3.5L. With Brent's old setup, there was simply no more power to be had about 22psi....that was it. We couldnt even squeeze one more whp out of it. My car maxed out at 20psi, and did 652whp on the DD...no more after that.

What's wrong with 20s? There are at least a few exotics out there, rolling on OEM 20s, running 650hp+.

i still don't get the numbers -- at least post the dyno sheets and track slips. it's nice to have all that power but those 20's must be hurting bad

I think perhaps the kid was implying he was shooting for 750 in the future? Or perhaps with a DJ correction he would be over 600 and factor in the drivetrain loss of 17-22% and he is at 750 at the crank.

20's don't help you put 650whp to the ground on a 350Z/G35...

coarse tires would of course grip worse than a nice set of fine grit tires...
