Default Compression checking

Howdy y'all,

I'm going to do a compression check for giggles. . .well mostly to see if I'm on the verge of blowing my engine apart before I get the vortech installed. Has anyone done it themselves? Since the coil packs are so far from the spark plugs, I assume you have to use some sort of long neck gauge? Anyone recommend any products in particular? Thanks in advance!

Most compression testers I can think of come with a hose that will have no problem reaching down in there once you remove the coil packs and plugs.

I do have high miles. 109k (but ~70% were highway miles)

And I figure since I'll be changing the plugs and injectors, may as well check the rest too.

If you are doing that, it is hardly anymore work to check the compression. Write it down, and you have a good reference point a year down the road if you check it again to see if things are the same or if they have deteriorated.

So you decided to upgrade the injectors? Which ones are you going with? Did you already pick them up?

Haven't gotten them yet, but will probably get deatchwerks (however you spell it) 650cc's. And yes, those monsters with the Walbro and that'll be it for fuel upgrades for now.
