Yeah they'll be able to make it work. Sam said he's not only replaceing the line but is gonna cut it and shield it some more so that it doesn't happen again.

can the lower line be accessed from underneath the car, or do you still have to remove the turbo?

It's been a wile since I've had my TN kit, but IIRC, you may be able to get to the 10mm head on the compressor if you remove the downpipe. maybe. But, once you take the downpipe off, it is only 4 more bolts to get the turbo off. at the same time, that you are doing this, you may want to flip your wastegate around and vent it to atmosphere. by doing so, you'll be able get rid of the wastegate return pipe that goes up into the downpipe. this'll simplify your reinstall of the turbo.

The downpipe is in the way of that upper AC line, yes. If you can remove the downpipe without removing the turbo you might be able to get in there, but as Quadcam mentioned, it's just as easy to remove the turbo. I'd personally just remove the turbo while I was in there and get a water cooled replacement if you don't already have it. Do you have another car?

If you're selling it I assume the turbo will be coming off anyway. It's easy to replace the AC line if the downpipe is not there.

I just used some of the UV stuff and the lower line is broke d1ck. I think most people have a problem on the downpipe, mine is near the wastegage though.

I replaced 1 low pressure and 2 high pressure lines all within 3 weeks. I want to know where you bought the lines for $50 so I can stock up. The cheapest I could find was $114 plus $20 shipping. The insulation that comes with the kit is not enough. the DEI extra insulation is a must before reinstalling, trust me.

Can someone break down the A/C cycle here, I dont know why but i am having a hard time figuring it out. Where is the high pressure coming out of the compressor and which way is the refrigerant flowing? I see the HP by the HP port into the condensor, and i see the LP from LP port to the compressor. And i see LP fromm the condensor to the compressor.

last question...is the shape of the stock AC line and the shape of the AC line that TN supplies the same? Thus is the only difference b/w the stock and the line TN supplies, the fact that the TN hose is longer? I ask because I am looking into having a custom one made, but i dont want to pull hte old one off before i have the new one ready to install. If they are the same shape, how much longer than the stock line should i go?
thanks

They are VERY close. I used the stock hard fittings on the end for my custom line, so it will work. I remember having to slightly bend the hardline right under the turbo though. Just be really careful if you have to do that.

I went about 8 inches longer than the turbonetics line on mine. I had plenty of room to route it with that. Just make sure you get all of that crazy shielding and some zip ties to keep it routed away from everything.

Ugh, to tell you the truth I have no idea. Maybe someone has a spare one sitting around they can measure?
