Default Need Help With Custom Turbo Setup

MY buddy and I are putting a custom turbo kit together for my Z. We are thinking about using a ball bearing 50 trim as the turbo. Where is a good place on the internet to find intercooler piping kits for the Z? I found this on ebay, but I don't know how good it is.

Honestly, if your thinking of piecing together a turbo kit, but need advise to find good intercooler piping, then you should reconsider this undertaking again.

It seems like there are few people on here that have done custom kits, and I want to piece one together.

There is no such thing as an intercooler pipe kit for the Z.

Thats all fine and well. I wanted to piece one together myself. Im saying if your not sure of where to get good intercooler piping, then what are you going to do about a manifold?

Here's a thread I had started a while ago when I was considering piecing together my own kit.

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/191134-diy-turbo-kit.html

After much debate, it would just be worth buying a used kit in good condition. Its going to be pretty difficult to piece one together yourself.

You also mentioned a few on this forum who have done it. Well go find me them, because I would love to see it. Only some shops have done a custom kit or two.

The trim doesnt tell us anything about the size turbocharger you are planning on using. We need a little bit more to work with.

For piping, just check with your local muffler shop. You can also buy U and J bends from several dealers on the internet, and tig weld them together.

See, but if he wasnt even sure about doing intercooler piping with any of those options, how does he even feel confident on actually putting together the rest of it.

I also just assumed he meant a T3/T4 50 trim as when anyone puts together a turbo kit, its always a T3/T4 turbo they got off ebay for soooo cheap.
