The reason the dyno can show a leaner number is for 2 reasons

1. The reading is probably from the tail pipe so that is always going to be leaner than a reading right after the turbos in the test pipes

2. Unless you are on a load based dyno you will usually be .5 AFR richer on the street due to the load.

I am more worried about the timing rather than the fuels, If he said its in the mid too low 10's across the board, that is very safe AFR. We usually tune high 10's to low 11's(Depending on EMS being used)

Failsafe: I don't know how my comment would come out as being a "vulture" I am merely trying to help him with his boost controller since it is a very complicated unit. I was one of the very first people to have this controller and I am VERY familiar with it.

Good luck Aaron,

Sorry George, bad joke. I wasn't referring to your boost controller comments at all, I just kinda jokingly envisioned all of the engine builders on here just waiting for this poor guy's motor to give so they could rebuild it for him. Kinda like vultures circling a wounded animal or something; I dunno. My bad, no harm intended

P.S: My car was tuned on a Mustang MD-AWD 500 Eddie Current Loading Dynamometer.

Its a heartbreaker isnt it Wonder what 313rwhp puts down on a dynojet.

How does my timing map look?

I experienced 1 count of knock today at ~4100rpm @ 10% @ 2.5psi. Retarded timing half a degree not sure if that will make a difference we will see.

Like I said, it is really hard to know if that timing map is OK for your car. Every car is different. While they can be close they are still difference. A degree or 2 and be the difference between a solid tune and a blown engine

Not to sound biased but your best bet (to ensure safety and reliability) is make sure everything on the car is properly setup and ready to go ( no loose ends ) and bring the car down for a tuning session.

The drive can't be that bad, Ask JusTus

Take care, and feel free to call me on that EVC6

Driving straight through it's honestly not bad. I left with minimal sleep and the drive is so much fun, I had no problems staying awake. Grant's pass is an awesome place to take some nice sharp turns....Grapevine too.

I'm going to try and take the coast back for a little more of a scenic drive...but obviously takes longer.

Heh, you could drive down...then sleep while Sam's tuning (should be a solid 4-5 hours) then head back. Simple!

I have been looking at taking to car over to GTM just for this reason. There really are no shops that specialize in VQ tuning around here. Seattle has Intec but they are more of a honda tuner with only a few VQ jobs. Portland had Horsepower Freaks but now they are closed and did better with Supras then anything else it seems when they were open.

Cali may be a 2 day trip down but honestly I have yet to find a better option.
