I think the guesstimation of price that i made in my previous post may still be under what the actual cost would be.

I just noticed the Z32 Twin turbo kit from Greddy. Uses twin TD-05s with only ONE exhaust manifold (inline6) and this kit lists for $6454.55 and this does NOT include the 23 row intercooler or emanage or the cost of a second manifold.

This is looking more expensive than anyone imagined.

sorry twin turbo V6 so i guess the greddy upgrade kit would include the second manifold.

and if you don't know what the Z32 is...1990-1996 Nissan 300ZX NA or Twin Turbo...Z32 is the chassis designation for this particular generation Z.

So this is similar of what should be a Z33TT kit, plus the engine management and intercooler.

What turbos does the Z32 kit uses??

I believe so...the Z32 kit uses the TD-05 turbines while the Z33 kit will apparently use the TD-05H turbines. I don't know what the price difference will be tween the turbos.

Yeah, I know, I use to have a Z32.

& yeah, it does seem like Autoweek just pulled these numbers out of their asses, although I wish it were true!

& yeah, even the FMIC alone is expensive as $hit, no way they can fit under $3,700.

The Autoweek article says 340 lb-ft of torque, vs. 239 stock. Is that enough for ya?

I don't know how Autoweek came up with that price. As of last week Greddy still wasn't sure what turbo they were going to use on the production kit. And they still have not received the price for the intake that they are out sourcing. The kit won't be out until probably July and won't be under $6000.00. My guess is the $3700.00 was their cost in parts to put the kit together for their car.

when you input the weight and hp into the 1/4 mile calculators, they all say 400rwhp would yield ~12.6 in the 1/4 mile...THey're only shitty calculators, but they seem moderately accurate...

CarTest said a stock Z will do

0-60 5.4
14.1 @ 101

With the Turbo it says:

0-60 4.3
12.8 @ 114

I used 405 HP and 390 FT-LBS (flywheel)

btw, i just got the super street mag, june issue, and the greddy Z is in there...a 3-4 page spread. doesn't say anything about cost though...check it out; it's got pretty decent pics.

they also say they rode in the greddy Z and it's mad fast.

i just saw the new issue of Turbo magazine and they have a review of the GReddy car there as well. 334rwhp if i remember correctly.

the estimated price on the kit they had was <6000, so that 3700 quoted in autoweek must be GReddy's cost for parts. also that 6000 seems a bit low to have the FMIC...what you guys think?

they said in Turbo that GReddy wasn't settled on the turbos yet. the current ones are too big for the Z, and said they might switch to single wastegate + smaller turbos.

they have other articles on Z parts and mods as well...

oh one more thing--they did a 1/4 mi. run at 12.9, a whole second off of their base of 13.9...not bad!

they also have dyno charts in the mag, before and after the turbo kit + FMIC. check it out!
