at Car Version 2 in DE(www.carv2.com). They have pretty much been the only hands that touched the g since i bought it in dec 03. i got thru the single turbo setup unscathed, to finally get to this point. if you are looking for a top notch tuner in the northeast area, give them a look-see.
Yea, we def gotta thank everyone who got us the parts when we needed them...CAR V2, GTM, Forged, AAM, GReddy, HKS, TEIN, Stillen, Rays...etc.
I'm sure your adjusting well to the G wagon. It's amazing how fast you get to 4th gear now, huh!? You gotta get Harry (HT4) in the G for a test ride. He'll soon dismiss the whole Z06 idea...no doubt. Put that built bottom and cams up in his Z!
I'll update the website either Sunday or Monday. I'll post up the dyno plots and the library of build pics to share with everyone.
Going sideways never felt so good...right Chrome! That sweet sound of the open wastegates is just sick. I love when people look over like "WTF!" After we do the 18psi tune, you may not even want the C16 tune! HA!
Have a nice w/e!

Wow! Great power and nice smooth dyno. I can't wait to feel what that is like (just sent you a PM). Congratulations on finally getting back on the road! Are you on stock half shafts? What kind/size rubber?
It's not just the Z06, I swear I have car ADD right now. Every time I see something new, I'm sure it's what I want. I'm bouncing around from the easy power of a twin turbo Chevy small block, to the traction of 4wd (read -- EVO or STI... or maybe even a GT-R).
Hopefully Tony and I can hook up soon and I will get the chance to feel the power! Then who knows what my plans will be. I also need to stop by at some point so we can put a price tag on an upgrade, and I can make an informed decision. It's amazing how fast all of this adds up.

James took a fellow z guy(tony) for a ride today. this is the first time he has driven the car. during the street tune, he had gerry driving. he came back with a kool-aid grin on his face. you are right, all wheel drive would be nice, but you can't argue with 550whp and 550trq. we are gonna do an 18psi tune fairly soon. this car spools so fast(550trq by 3600-3800rpms), 1st gear is useless. once you feel the power of this setup, you might change your mind about another platform. also, with the weight of my g, i couldnt imagine it in the lighter 350z. i went with the bridgestone potenza re-01r's. they have a 140 treadwear rating, are super-soft, and are cheaper than the michelin pilot sport ps-2's. plus i have a business account with tire rack and they have a warehouse in old new castle, so if you need tires, let me know. also, with the stillen f&r camber kit, the suspension shop was able to dial in the right setup for the street. yeah, i'm still on the stock axles. i don't do alot of hard launches(mostly roll-on stuff), so i think they will last for awhile. see you sunday.
Great numbers and congrats... I have only had CarV2 work on my G as well and agree 100% that their work is top notch. I have been debating on whether to build or not (I have an APS TT stock block)... if (more likely when) I decide to, they will be the ones to do it.
Mr. Chrome, I must say my first time as wheel man in your G was intoxicating...I think we got the right combo...and I've been in a lot of high power cars...a lot. We've built many FI'd VQ's and singled out supras. We've dabbled in GTR's and even some exotics. The FMS VQ platform is indeed very impressive. You can't go wrong with a proper built Z or G. On the road or on the track, Nissan seems to have the market on lock for the money.
The 3.5 makes enough NA power down low to get thing going without complaint of lag...then when 3500 RPM comes around and the turbos start singing...OMG! It's like a force from behind and under the vehicle pushes you so violently forward. Life starts going by really fast! Next gear, next gear, next gear...it never stops. No exaggeration.
As far as the AWD comment, I hope you didn't take that the wrong way. I never bash RWD, but you know I'm a huge GTR fan. I was just prospectively thinking of this type of power applied to the next GTR platform (Next year baby!). Aside from the 1st gear traction loss, those RE01's are no joke. I've never felt a 19" tire grip like that. I'm very impressed with Bridgestone on those.
Hey Harry, if you get out in Chromie's car and decide it's for you... Stop on by when you get a chance. Jay will work you up an estimate.

Yo, whut up tone! Where's the pic's? Man you gotta show'em. Not only does this dudes car rip, but she's a Stunner hands down. Mad Prop's to a cool *** dude who keeps his car clean and actually drive's it!
Wow! That's all I can say. This car is a freaking beast. It pulls in fifth gear like my stock block, 8psi APS twins do in third. And the sound is insane once those open dumps start singing at full throttle. Just a couple seconds on the throttle and this things going deep into the speedometer.
Thanks for letting me get a taste of the monster Tony! Good luck and be safe with that thing.

thanks harry! we are supposed to do an 18psi tune this week. went out driving today and it was crazy how stock-like it drives off boost just putting around town. i'll try to get up with you guys in jersey at the next meet. i got some info on those tires and i'll text you in the a.m.
Updates please. I would love to know how the 18psi tune worked out. Also did you find it necessary to upgrade the W/G springs to 15psi springs? If so where did you get them? Since you are using a boost controller, why is upgrading them even necessary.
Let me know.

Someone can correct me if i'm wrong but a boost controller can only hold about double of wastegate springs rating. so if i had a 10 psi spring that really held 8psi, double that is 16psi. i'm already at 15psi. going with the 15 psi springs that hold 13 psi will let me hold theorhetically 26 psi. i'm no boost controller or wastegate expert, i just try to soak up info as i read it. like i said earlier, if i'm mistaken, can someone with knowledge on this subject please chime in?

Congrats. Those are some really nice numbers. That is exactly what I am shooting for. You and I have very similar set-ups, which is why I was questioning the Wastgate springs. I gotta start shopping for 'em now I guess. If you have any insight, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
Double Congrats!!! I am so happy for you. Can't wait to get my car on the road to feel that power!!!!
