Thanks guys.

You basically told me what I was looking for. It will be interesting to see how the new 07 engine does with a Vortech.

I wasn't really trying to compare my 03 Cobra to the Z, as they're are totally different cars. Its true the 03 Cobras are heavy, mine weighed 3620 with out me. With just an exhaust system and no mods under the hood, I was running mid 12's @ 115.7mph traps in the Cobra (stock tires). It was a great car, but I'm just looking for something different right now.

Bottom 12's would be really nice with a FI 350Z.

Thanks again,

dan

Then definitely go with a turbo setup... It's hella fun~ With a S/C you'll feel like you are driving another domestic V8. With a turbo, you'll experience something totally different. I think you are looking for the latter.

I agree with everyone else. Since you aren't looking for big RWHP numbers and you are looking at a S/C I would highly recommend the JWT TT kit, it will handle 400 RWHP no problem and has the least boost and turbo lag of the TT's. Plus if you decide to go a little higher(which you will) it won't be a problem.

From what others are saying the new 07 engine should handle more HP stock, so going mid to high 400's won't be a problem.

The torque curves I've seen on that set up are insane. You almost can't call it a curve it's so flat.

Good luck you are getting a great car. I'd love to have an 07

I think GTM mentioned they are working on putting a JWT kit on an 07 now... If you do go with the JWT, consider the 700bb upgrade tuner kit, just in case you decide to go for more power down the road.

That kit gives you the potential for more power(most likely need to build the engine). The problem is it increases lag. If lag isn't an issue with him, he might as well go with the Greddy TT kit which guys like Sharif seem to think is the best overall value for going big on power gains.

Ummm, you do know Sharif is moving from Greddy to the JWT 700bb kit right?

J/K. Lots of variables - both good choices depending on what's important to you. Keep in mind that the JWT 700bb is slightly *smaller* than the standard APS. So lag is hardly an issue compared to the "lack" of torque fall off like on the 530bb turbos at high rpm.

The OP is in California. Wouldn't the smog laws effect his choice? i.e. Vortech/ Stillen SC only? (assuming he's worried about smog reg's that is).

hmmm, that JWT pop charger comes with a JWT carb # sticker. Wonder what you could do with that if you had a JWT kit... ha ha

I wonder what ever happened to the carb cert JW was trying to get for their TT. I just checked their site and didn't see any updates.

I just read one of his posts saying that he thought the Greddy TT was the best all around bang for the buck. I have never been a Greddy fan, but I respect his opinion. If he is moving to the JWT kit then I am all for it.

No I agree with you and him. For the price - the Greddy spool and hp under the curve is really hard to beat. I wanted ball bearing and dual/split intercoolers for my G, so I went down a different path...

I'd love to run a TT set up, but I do live in CA, and passing smog (visual) is important to me. Looks like the Vortech may be my best option -dan

You guys are both right...for the money the Greddy TT is a nasty power adder, with great midrange trq, fast spool..its a hardcore it. The JWT setup uses a water cooled/BB turbo setup, which was important to me, since I track my car regularly, and I wanted to try something different....since I have been running the Greddy kit for 3 years now.

Better go with a TT kit.
definently go tt like a 530bbtt kit. it spools really quick with the right mods
