Default 400rwhp = How Fast?

Considering the Purchase of a 2007 350z. Among some really fast cars, I'm a former 03 Cobra owner, so I'm used to substantial power. This would be my first foreign sports car, so I'm a little hesitant being that its a n/a v6.

I really like the looks of the 350z and think its a great all around car for the money. If I go through with the purchase my goal will be a 400rwhp via a Vortech Supercharger system.

For those of you guys who have Z's with 400rwhp, what kind of quarter mile performance (E.T. & MPH) are you seeing?

Thanks, Dan

To get super-fast times and power out of a Vortech you will have to do a substantial amount of other mods. Supercharging a 350Z is alot less powerful than a Supercharged Cobra.

Better go with a TT kit.

395/325 netted me 12.2@115 with a spacer, test pipes, exhaust, walbro and the 3.12 pulley. Tuning is the major part of it though.

Less than 400whp on a ST netted me 11.98-11.99 @ 114-116mph

yeah the Z has less displacement wich means less gains on a SC than a cobra. You should be able to be fairly quick. All else make up for the lack of power with gearing.

If you want bigger power go TT.

+1.

Most of the 400whp SC guys are in the low 13's and high 12's. TT kits at 400whp at in mid 12's to high 11's.

^ that is just silly guys.

everyone knows that a flux capacitor limits your trap speed to 85 mph.

The Z weighs a good 500-700 lbs less than a cobra though.

It's more like 400lbs... you could get close to a 500lb difference if you took the heaviest cobra and and the lightest 350z model maybe.

400whp SC 350z... low 12s at best. With the added torque of a turbo setup you could make it into the 11s if you can drive.

oh yeah the old cobras were almost 300 lbs lighter than these new ones, I was thinking they were 100-200 lbs lighter than the new ones for some reason

Given the VQ35HR Z's are running mid to low 13's stock, I'm pretty sure a Vortech setup would do better than low 13's/high 12's
