you got OWNED! I found this while researching tuner shops on Rip Off Report. Looks like a disgruntled employee spilled the beans.

WOW!!!

This part looks pretty bad.

Mike, the 'master tuner' doesn't even touch them. In fact, he doesn't even know how to tune half these cars. He merely buys the base maps from overseas, and then changes settings here or there in a hope to make it run better. He has blown up many cars, and ripped off EVERY customer that he has ever dealt with. Mike Mahaffey has taken money from customers like Jarrod Norman of NC, the owner of a Stealth VR4, he has paid over $50k and the car hasn't been touched. The car has been sitting for over a year, and mike jokes casually about never intending to touch it. He was discussing filing a mechanics lien on the car so he doesn't have to do the work.

This is so true. Biggest shame about all of it is that a guy like Frank, who is an exceptional tech gets his rep hurt via the association. I would not hesitate to let Frank work on my car, but I'd want all the money going in his pocket, not AAM's. He's a bright spot there.

hhmm...so there's a Mike, ripping people off through VRT on the west.

on the east (or whatever side that is) there's a Mike ripping people off through AAM?

Moral of the story: Avoid any Mike working on a VQ?

WELL....I HAVE NOT RECIEVED AN EMAIL NOR A PM FROM EITHER OF THEM SINCE . THE OTHER THREAD WAS CLOSED -DELETED OR BOTH . SEEMS THEY JUST WANTED TO POST THAT THEY WOULD FIX THINGS TO IMPROVE THIER IMAGE BUT NEVER DO A DAM THING TO MAKE IT RIGHT WITH ANY OF US . HAS ANY ONE RECIEVED ANYTHING PROMISED BY AAM ?

I have a feeling you will never receive anything from them. If you do it will be a "come on in and we will make it all right for you" then you end up leaving with another bill???

More than likely... To add to all of the AAM drama here lately, there was a thread that popped up in the Mid-A today. Puts Mike in an interesting light. Did anyone see that before it got deleted?
