Brian Crower Cams..Setting The Bar!!
If you ever talk to Jim on the phone you will quickly learn that he knows his **** and probably knows it better then any person on this forum. Having a cam that benefits in NA and FI is not really that hard to comprehend unless you are stuck in the old days of pushrods and old technology. You can see on dynos that people do actually gain usable power from JWT cams in FI and NA applications. I would highly doubt that JWT would produce and recommend a cam in an application where it would be more detrimental then helpful.
GSC offers cams? I called them a few months ago after seeing how well their supra cams did, and they told me they do not plan on producing a cam for the vq35

I understand what vader007 is saying and also understand what others are saying. With the relative efficiency and better engine mgmt of modern day cars, I think it is possible to have a cam suitable for typical NA and FI duty. But what vader007 is saying is correct, and I don't think anyone would disagree, the further away from "typical" you get, the more specific the cam requirements become
Figured I would update everyone..Were waiting on a crank to come back from balancing, and the SAME motor is going back together..Same pistons, same rods, same heads, same rings, new bearings, new headgaskets, and the Stage 3 BC cams!!Dyno in about 2 weeks...

ill be very interested to hear about the the idle on this unit

BC2 still my choice so far

i think the size of the big turbo you'll be putting on will help push the power further ....i am working on my midrange

so you got the ati pulley then?
Update..The new crank came back today from getting balanced and we had a PRO-STOCK knife edge put on it..
This was done by one of our local connections we will not reveal

You dont have to "reveal" your local connection.......
But you do have to reveal the prices for the stage 2 & stage 3 cams.
Thankyouvery-much for the usless update
Im still keeping my subscription.......

Just figured we would update this thread with a useless bump..The new BC 3 Cams are in the motor and the motor is going in the car today, and should be running by Monday.
After break in, we will have a viable JWT S1 vs GTM Turbo Cam vs BC2 VS BC3 cams comparison for all to make on my motor. i will post and compare several dyno files overlayed from the different set ups.
The motor were using the BC3's on is the same motor we been using for a while, non sleeved, CP pistons, ACL bearings, ARP L19, HKS headgaskets, HeadGames heads with standard sized Ferrea valves. The only difference in this set up will be a Knife edged crank.
We freshened up the motor with a new set of pistons and rings, but other than that its the same motor we been testing on for a while..4 years.
When we are done i will update this thread and start a new one dedicated to the testing..

Just a bump for an update...We got the car running, and have put 30 miles on it so far, were goig for a 1800 mile break in of the new rings, so they seat properly...The new stage 3 BC's sound nice!
i can not wait to open her up full throttle..

As for "sound nice", I still get no "camming" - car sounds stock.
