Hello everyone, this is my first time on this site hoping to get some advice. My 04 350z has about 37K miles on it, and i was thinking of buying a turbo kit for it. I have done a little reasearch and found that a lot of people perfer the aps single turbo kit. It's going to be my daily driver and I want it to be as safe as possible, Im a full time student so it takes some time for me to save up some cash. what other modifications must I get done in order for it to be pretty safe? I don't plan on having a speed demon, just want to have a bit more power and have a lot more fun driving it. I would appriciate everyones adive and recommendations.

get a 50 trim t3/t4 with a vtak controller it will be safer thn stock.

 

Seriously, mods we need to have a post requirement for new members before they can make a thread. There are many other forums out there that have a requirement of 15+ posts or whatever number in order to prevent wasteful threads that generally include senior members bashing the new members for asking the same question over and over again.

A post requirement would at least make the new members do some surfing of the forums before posting.

And to the OP. This websites been around for years. What makes you think this subject hasn't been dicussed a thousand times? And there's no such thing as safe.

 

"Safe" depends on how one drives his/her car and who tunes it. The choice of turbo kit matters very little. I know a guy that drove his turbo'd stock block Z for 100k miles without problems. On the flipside, I also know a guy that drove his car down the street and that thing blew up immediately.

 

I know you're new, but please use the search feature. Narrow down to the FI section and look at the options. There have been throusands of threads / discussions on stock/built FI setups. Do some more homework and since you're in CA, drop a call to Sam or George over at GT Motorsports (aka GTM)... Good luck.

 

What would be good is if one of the builder/tuners could do a sticky on it, kinda like what Jeremy from PF did for people wanting to go Nitrous

 

I understand you POV but don't know why people feel so strongly about this. Obviously we want to preserve the forum as far as bandwidth etc, but the reality is that these types of questions are ALWAYS relevant IMO. Things change every few months, so a thread started in June may have more comprehensive information than a post started in January. These questions should be seen as an opportunity to discuss the LATEST information available.

You got that right!! If everyone on this sight acted so snappy and crabby about the search menu, you would lose a lot of members. It only takes one person to tell people to use the search menu, we dont need ten people following crying about bandwith.
