Stuck between two kits...
I have been debating even after reading all the posts between going with the APS TT kit or the Greddy TT kit. I am looking for good reliability and performance for an almost daily driver. Can anyone please put in some input that own either of these kits, maybe what you liked and disliked about the kit? I personally like the watercooled turbos of the APS kit, but I like the external wastegates of the Greddy kit. My pro's and con's list kinda leveled itself off in noone's favor, and as much as I'd love to put both kits on and leave the one I like on, I don't make THAT much money! All help is greatly appreciated.

All that said, on a stock block, the APS kit includes everything you need for a true factory TT feel. No piecing things together... not that it is that hard. In the end, the kits are really give and take and very comparable if you weigh the pros and cons of each. In the end, the turbos and retain the stock front brace were really the things that put me over the top in terms of choosing the APS kit

well the tune is the other part... my ECU is already tuned for N/A =(... so I don't know exactly if I can make up for it with either EMS that come with either of those kits... I am sure a good tuner can, but I believe it would just be better to have a full EMS. I would like to build my block later on... but like I said this is a daily driver, so I would like to have the option to turn down boost and still have it run just as nice, just less powerful, as it does when it is fully boosted.
Both are awesome kits. You will need a retune regardless of what you decide. I'd run the Unichip that comes with the APS over the emanage but honestly with the options on the market now a UTEC is the least you could do IMO.
Obviously I chose the Greddy-reason for me personally was they have been proven time and time again. They may be older designed snails in comparison not BB/water cooled but you almost never hear of any failing (stock units not upgraded rebuilt units), external wastegates, and power potential. Also, getting parts I Believe is easier as Ive read of BS issues with APS's customer support. And slightly cheaper than APS.
Regardless both are great kits you will be happy with either of them.

I thought the turbo's that did come with the greddy kit were ball bearings already.... Although the loosing that front support bracket doesn't really kill me as I have a buddy who can fabricate stuff from his machine shop, and I'd just have him throw me together something. But all in all, I'd love to hear a few inputs from some shops on why they choose to install one kit over the other???

first up. I run an APS TT and 2.5" exhaust with JWT clutch combo.
They are the only mods ive ever done to the car. APS truely feels, installs and looks OEM. I run the unichip. I havnt been able to fault it. I like watercooled because it lets me turn off the car without fear of coaking. I dont like turbo timers. I like the Aps oil pan. i like the sounds. I like the piping and filters in the gaurds.
I ran a greddy kit on my civic back in the day.
You will be happy with either kit. You probably wont notice the difference because u wont install it urself. Wastegates mean nothing at stockish boost levels. APS has trouble above 12psi, u just upgrade to forged acutators. You wont find any deal breakers with either kit. It comes down to pricing and brand preference.
As far as power output is concerned, you can run an array of GT series turbo chargers on the APS manifolds. Power isnt limited. You will find all kits running on built motors will use different turbo combinations then those that come with the kits.
