Describe it in a little bit more detail. Was it a belt squeal? Did it go away after the car was warmed up? Did you recently but this kit new? Have you taken off the filter and inspected the blower fins?

Well this is how it goes...... I took it out for a ride with my brother in his z we both raced a couple times and then when we got back the charger sounded a lilttle different i might just be parranoid because i bought it in july and thats when everyone was having problems but ill take the filter off and inspect it tomorrow and see whats up!!!!
"Funny" is a bit vague but it is accurate when you only hear an occasional 'chirp', a higher pitched whine and a general increase in volume from the supercharger. Unfortunately, not being overly familiar with all of the new noises associated with a supercharged engine doesn't help all us newbs, either.
If you have any doubts, take the air filter off and look along the side walls, next to the impeller blades. I wish we had done that sooner (and we might have had the supercharger back from Vortech by now and gotten our car running again). For reference, look at the numerous photos posted of the failed units including my post, 'Vortech Eats Itself'. Look for the white 'powdering' of the housing where the blades have hammered the surface of the alloy. That, probably, is the first sign of an impending failure (after the 'funny' noise) and necessitates a call to Vortech.
If you continue to push it, as so many on this forum have (so there must be at least a few others who didn't recognize the 'Song Of Death' our Vortechs were singing), you will wind up with a broken blade(s) and THAT noise is unmistakable.
Good luck

They still have our supercharger and I will call them (again) on Monday to check on the status of our repair (the hubbies making the money this weekend to pay for his 'toy'). We hope to have it back soon
