what's your setup?

do you have a stock oil pan or larger oil pan - or an oil pan spacer?

do you have an oil cooler?

if you have a stock setup with a vortech, then I'd put the normal 5.25 liters in or maybe slightly more since the vortech holds a little extra oil when it's running

Sounds normal to me...

99.9% of Vortech's have the rattle at idle, mine included... I now have over 45K miles on my SC kit and have no issues at all... It rattles at idle and I find myself keeping my rpms at 1000 at stop lights some times to quiet it down...

Don't stress about the normal rattle of the blower.

i def. realize that vortech blowers rattle, i just feel like this is a different rattle than when it was running fine in the past. This rattle seems to surge unlike in the past where it was a constant rattle. Like i said, I'm just going to keep my ears and eyes on it.

How can I get my idle raised? (2004.5)

I made another video and it starts with the car at regular idle (900rpms) and then I held it at 1400rpms for a bit then let it back down to 900. My friend video taping thinks the noise goes away and is not just being drowned out by the higer rpms. What do you guys think?

I think it's not the normal blower rattle, there is some extra irregular sound there.

the 1st video sound fine to me, but the second there is an almost screeching noise as the RPMs come down.

I have the same sound...

When the bearing inside my first Vortech past away... I remember the sound... and the sound level increase with the RPM at ANY RPM....!!!!

so, you may have a bearing some where (jackshaft, idler pulleys..etc) in bad shape...

this is why I will, during this winter, change the jackshaft bearing and the idler pulleys...

Are you running you belt pretty tight ? like me... that's not helping the bearings...

AND you air filter relocation kit is a part of the problem !!! so, I will give you 20$ for your kit...
