Default Stillen Idler Pulley

For those with early Stillen SC kits, there is a new idler kit for the non-supercharger belt. This is the same idler that had a "spacer" update. The new idler kit is machined and seems to solve the belt squealing and belt eating behavior of the non-supercharger belt. Hopefully, when combined with the 6 rib supercharger belt upgrade, belt reliability will be good.

superchargedg,
After you remove the idler pulley, did any of belts slips/squeaks even with your stage 4 kit? Cause i was thinking doing the same thing you did. Thanks

At first yes they did but i tightened the belt a little at a time and i got it to stop.It is hard on the belt but i just couldnt stand the noise anymore and that litlle idler also screwed up the factory adjuster pulley.

Now that winter has come and the cold weather has arrived, my car is squeeling like an 89 civic! I had this same issue last year just after I had Stillen change out all my belts. I drove back out there and they just reached in tightend a screw with 2 turns and it all went away. Now its been about a year since then so the belt needs to be tighted... which I tried to do, with great failure. The screw behind the alternator is the one I tried to tighten but was unable to do so with angle and lack of leverage I had... Anyone have any ideas to get rid of this squeel??

Mine squeals while driving for about 10min every morning from that damn pulley and at idle it sounds like there is something wrong with my engine Its really embarrassing and makes the car sound like junk! I was thinking about just removing it, good to hear someone else has done it with success. BTW how much is the new idler pulley kit?

Which idler pulley do you remove... The one with the triangler bracket?
