Default Header diameters?

Hey guys,

I know when shopping for headers, you want equal length, but what about pipe diameter?

Are all after market headers made with the same diameter tubing, and where would i look to find such info??? all else equal, would bigger be better on a FI engine (well supercharged only ofcourse). Do turbo manifold come in different diameters as well? Figure you'd want 3" turbo manifolds to go to 3" downpipes to 3" test pipes wouldnt you???

Suggestions on what to buy as there's such a range of prices?

Crawfords have shown the most consistent gains, followed by maybe Nismo R-Tune, then maybe DC Sport...

Header diameter and length will have a dramatic impact on power and torque curves. we build our headers in a variety of diameters to meet specific goals.we also use merge collectors in some applications to broaden the powerband

Not necessarily...in some applications, unequal length might be preferred. There are plusses and minusses to each

Nope - each manufacuturer should have the info listed on their respective websites though

Not necessarily - all depends again on the specific job at hand, engine rpm level, head work, cams, combustion chamber cc, valve seat, etc
