You may be able to fit the hood on with a FWD intake manifold.

If he removed the elbow from the FWD IM and attached the throttle body in its place, it would face the passenger's side of the bay. Then, he could reclock the blower so that the outlet faces downwards, run piping from the outlet to the driver's side IC inlet, and then from the IC outlet straight up to throttle body.

Agreed. $15k for a VQ35 swap vs $5k for a built VG30DETT plus $2k for a small turbo upgrade to run 400rwhp on pump fuel with proven reliability.

I wonder why Nissan made the VG a TT in the first place? Oh, because turbos >> superchargers.

It's made for your car, it's proven and it'll probably make more power than a Procharged VQ35.
"probably"? You're being too nice.

Sell the procharger and buy an APS TT kit if you want to be unique AND have a faster car than the VG30DETT. Run 6-7psi and ~400rwhp/400rwtq and enjoy it.

not to mention the vg30dett can handle a good deal more power on a stock block than a vq35de. but hey, the engine's already in the car so not really any turning back

Right. Many of my Z32 friends have 500+ rwhp, some 600+, on a stock block. On the flip side, many of my Z33 friends have blown up their 400rwhp Z33s. That is why I chose to build my Z32 for speed while keeping the Z33 N/A...

Until you blow your engine. The VQ can't handle high boost over 7.5~ psi. You will have to spend another 10k to build that engine to handle the boost when you could have gotten the TT engine and just used that. I see this as a waste of funds.

I'm surprised they didn't get the engine to fit under the hood so you:
A- don't have to put a cowl on the hood
B- have a lower center of gravity

I fit a VQ under the stock hood of a Datsun 510 (with an AAM IM spacer), so I really think it's possible to get a VQ to fit under the hood of a Z32. I'm assuming the steering rack was the main thing that caused them to mount it so high. There are things that can be done about that though.
