Default Problem with steering wheel after FI install

I have had my kit installed for a few months now. I was working out of town for the last few months so i really didn't get to drive the car at all. Since i have gotten back and have been able to drive my car i have noticed the steering wheel has some play in it when parked. I am able to turn the wheel maybe 2" w/o there being any resistance in the wheel. The problem isn't that noticeable when driving. At first i thought maybe it had been doing it all along and i forgot about it since i hadn't driven my car in like 4 months, but yesterday i got to feel another z's steering and it didn't do it. I am guessing it is something to do with when the motor and steering rack were removed to install the turbos. Any ideas or anyone else experience this?

BTW i am NOT getting any cluncking noises or any other evidence of something being askew.

Have you got under the car and looked at the steering knuckle? Maybe it's slightly loose. There's bound to be some play, but two inches isn't right.

It may be your brake calipers.

I would hate to see you have to sell them off for a loss

i've got to get under there in the next couple of days to change out my wideband sensor so i am going to look at it then.

As far as the knuckle goes i don't see how it could be that, but i could be wrong.

Maybe the steering knuckle bolt has loosened off and the shaft is rotating slightly until the splines catch. Any dash lights on like SLIP, VDC,etc??
Could possibly be a power steering issue as well.
