Default vortech:ss box v. utec

im currently in the process of buying a vortech and i already have a utec installed in my car...my question is...

will a vortech run any better with a utec than it would with the stock ss box???

also will a utec give me more horsepower than the stock ss box???

reason im asking is im debating selling my utec and just using the stock ss box if a utec really wont benefit me over the ss box

IMO the SS box is fine for the vortech.

though the vortech will have consistent boost levels at all the rpms so you can probably use the UTEC to control throttle position and rpm instead of the usual rpm and boost that turbo setups will tune as

IMO, I'm really not sure if I think the UTEC's cost is worth it over the SS box's on a vortech setup, but it is a better unit.

+1 to going with what the tuner knows best though

I believe from what Ive seen and read on this site and my experience tuning my own car with the SS box , is that the ss box will be much easier to tune . You will likely run into far less problems with the unit . But I think the tune will be better and be able to get the most out of the motor with the Utec because of the better control over fuel and timing . For what we pay for a few WHP , the cost is well worth the whp gained .

Booger and Sentry, post after post and they aren't ripping into each other
Get rid of the Utec and get some more supporting mods?

I've learned it's impossible for me to just state my opinion if it happens to disagree with yours.
You seem to take it as me "stirring things up"

UTEC makes for finer fuel adjustments at 250 rpm's and S.S. Box which is at 500 rpm increments.
If you go with UTEC you'll need a replacement for the Vortech Fuel system ( FMU/AuxFuel pump) UTEC will not work with these...Hp difference is a good question and I would like to also know...
